Third person's POV

She has been walking for over thirty minutes with her drenched clothes, her eyes puffy from crying and from the cold and she doesn't even know where she is because she was forced and she didn't even look at her surrounding because if her fear.
She swore never to give any man a place in her life because she has suffered a lot in the hands of men.
She rubbed her palms against her shivering shaky body.
Her body shivers in cold and fear. She doesn't even know where she is.

Damon on the other hand decided to drive to Mason's house.
He's still blinded by his anger and he doesn't realize what he's done.
Soon, he got to Mason's penthouse and rode the elevator to his floor.
"Hey man you... " Mason greets but stops when he saw the look on his best friends face. "What's wrong " Mason asked Damon.
"Nothing " Damon replied going straight to the bar to take a strong drink.

They talk about anything and everything until Mason asked of Avery and Damon's expression changed.
"She's been avoiding me ... " there and then, Damon told Mason all that has happened since Avery got back.
"You know I feel like testing my fist on your face for what you did to her" Mason voiced out. Damon dropped his head in shame.

"So why are you here. I don't mean to say you are not welcome here but, you came here angry " Mason asked.

"I'm just coming from a destroyed date" Damon answered.

"With whom " Mason asked confused.

"With Avery " he  answered

"Then where's she because I don't see her anywhere? Or did you tell her to stay in the car?,come on man Mason" asked angrily hoping his friend had not lost his senses by cheating on his lovely wife.

"She's.... Jesus Christ! " Damon yelled jumping to a standing position as he froze. His eyes widened in realization and fear of what he just did.

" oh no no no. God no" he mutters and bolts outside.

Mason who saw the colour draining out of his emotionless best Friends face is confused at his friends behavior and runs after him.

"what's wrong man. You just ran like y... "

"Avery Avery" Damon said sitting on the floor with his head in his hands and the realization hit him with full force of what he has done.

"What happened to her " Mason inquired.

" I -I I left her" Damon murmured, his  pale face more paler and his eyes bringing tears. They rolled down his cheeks, he felt helpless.

Mason saw how helpless his friend looked and was puzzled.
"C'mon I Can't hear you"  Mason said confused.

"God I- I left her " he said a loud this time

"Where? Where did you leave her" mason asked angrily because he knows that the next thing to come out of his friends mouth is about his rash actions.

"At... At the clearing. I- I didn't mean to oh God" more tears fell from his eyes.

Now mason realized what's making his best friend cry. But he couldn't help but get Angry at Damon. Avery is like the little sister he never had and she has suffered a lot and now his friend just did this.
"How could you do this! After all you've put her through! " mason yelled in anger and gave Damon a good jab that he was sure would bruise.

Damon on knowing what he did immediately stood up, entered his car and sped off.
"God please I hope she's okay. Please keep her safe" he prayed while driving like a crazed maniac.
Mason on the other hand decided to follow his crazed friend as he knew Damon wasn't in the right condition to drive.

"Please pick up " Damon muttered with tears in  his eyes as he called Avery's cellphone that was out of reach. All he got was her phone going to voicemail  "the number your calling is out of reach, please leave a voice note or call again later"
Fresh tears fell from his eyes. She has been avoiding him because of the monster he was. He really needed to deal with this anger issues of his quickly if he ever wants a place in Avery's life he thought.

When Damon got to the clearing, he came out of his car not caring if he got wet in the rain. He saw no one in the clearing. "Oh God no" he whispered to himself running to the tent to see if she was there but no... She wasn't.
"God please keep her safe" he  continued to pray as fresh tears fell from his eyes.

Another car parked and mason parked his car beside that of Damon's.

"Where is she?  Did you bring her here" mason asked running his hands through his now wet hair.

"Yes I did. B-but she's not here" Damon cried out.
"What time did you both come here?" Mason asked Damon

"T-that was by 7 this evening" Damon croaked out

"Jesus Christ man! How could you do this to her!. And to think you forced her to come with you on a date and you left her in the middle of nowhere! Who the hell does that!" Mason yelled at his friend in anger.
" God. You are so stupid and I fucking hate you right now " he added angrily and got back to his car and drove off and Damon followed.

...

They drove through every nook and cranny of the place but no sight of her.
Damon who was about to park somewhere to call his searchers  turned to a corner to make a stop when he saw a small figure sitting on the wet floor far ahead with her hands wrapping her legs to her chest and her head on her knees.

He immediately sped up until he got a closer view.
"Its her" he murmured  in joy and relief.
His heart that was still ever since started beating hard against his ribcage.
He got to where she was and jumped out of the car. His eyes and his whole demeanor softened when he saw her figure shaking, soft sniffs could be heard. "Avery" he called out softly and she raised her head. The moment she laid her eyes on him, she jumped on her feet and moved back from him in  fear.

'I'll never trust him again. He can never change' Avery thought to herself.

He neared her and as soon as he was about to touch her arm, she flinched and when he looked into her now puffy eyes all he saw in those innocent eyes was fear and hate. Something that he hasn't seen in her s eyes for a while. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair blinking harshly to stop the tears from falling..

"Baby" he whispered his voice breaking.

'I fell for it once but I won't fall for it again' Avery thought.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to I swear. It's  just... " he reached out to her again but she only moved backwards again in fear and fright. Which not only made his heart break but made a layer of darkness fall over his eyes.

"Did you find her. Why did you... Thank God. Avery! " Mason said in relief going closer to her to check for injuries.
"Jesus Christ your running a high temperature " mason said with worry evident in his voice. He checked her  for injuries again and when he found none, he wrapped his arms around her shoulders in a brotherly manner. But to Damon it wasn't. At all. He saw red when he saw his best friends arm around her shoulders. He couldn't help but feel jealous. That's supposed to be me!.

Mason took her to his car and got her in safely, he made sure to turn on the  heater to warm Avery up.
To be honest, he felt sorry for her because she has suffered a lot.

He was going to deal with Damon later.
"I'm talking her to your father's " Mason informed Damon who sighed and his shoulder slumped dejectedly
Thinking once again.

I have failed again.

Not even his father or mother would let him come close to her again.

Once more, hot tears fell from his eyes.

"I've failed " he said to himself.
