Avery's pov

"Now take it away" I told the flower delivery agent who was sent to deliver flowers. He has given me the fifth lily flowers for today and o keep returning them.

Damon has been sending flowers with apology letters cards placed inside the flower's which is getting annoying because he has been sending them for the last two weeks after the dinmer at his parents place.

Sometimes, he calls me and I either reject or not answer. I don't block the numbers he has used to call because the more I block the numbers, the more he calls me with new ones.
Everyone in my working place has known that someone has been sending flowers to my office every day and they are growing suspicious. The  last thing I want m now is to become the new topic of discussion.

I sighed and slumped mysef on my office chair running my face in frustration. I'm tired, I haven't even slept for almost two days cause we have an upcoming event. James who is the CEO is my very good friend and he travelled for another business so he dumped all his work load on me. And now this douche bag is adding to my stress by bringing these flowers. Though they are my favorite and I melt every time I see them, I can't let  myself fall for his devious plans again.
Old habits die hard and I doubt if he's changed.

Soon, it was 5 already and I couldn't be more happier. I needed a good rest, a good bath and more a good sleep.
I walked to my car after bidding everyone goodbye.
The minute I reached to my apartment, the structure of a man sitting on my front porch caught my attention.

Who the hell!
I quickly rushed out of my car clutching my bag tightly to check who the intruder is.
I swear if its a burglar I will... The person raised his head as soon as he  heard my footsteps and... "Hey "
The voice greeted.
"Damon" I hissed."what are you doing here, how could you come here without my permission " I almost yelled.
"I'm sorry I... I just wanted to invite you to... to um party " he stuttered nervously as he scratched the back of his neck.
"And what made you think I would go out with you" I spat in anger and a flash of hurt crossed his eyes.

"No its actually mom and dad's anniversary and they would like it if you really come" he said softly
I looked at him not believing a single word that came out of his mouth and like he noticed, "here this is the  invitation. I saved one for you because I figured if- if dad called you to the house you wouldn't show up because... because of me" he said whispering the last part to himself.
"Of course I wouldn't come if your there" I said sacastically and walked passed him to my door.

"Wait" He said rushing behind me

"What now " I almost yelled
" I uh... sorry but here is the invitation card. You'd need it" he said coming closer to me as he brought out a beautiful wrapped gold paper from his leather jacket.
oh shit my head is pounding. I rubbed my temples and sighed deeply closing my eyes.
"Are you okay, whays wrong" he asked panicking.
I mentally rolled my eyes and snatched the invitation card from him and turned to go into my apartment.
"Um if you need me call me I'm... " I banged the door not wanting to hear what he wanted to say. But I guess banging the door was a wrong idea because it only made me wince as the  head ache worsened.

I can't let him.
I won't let him get to me this time.

Damon's pov

Who is this girl I just encountered. Jesus, I mean she is really something.
I can't believe she's the same quite, kind hearted and gentle girl I got married to..

She still looks so beautiful with her long hair and all. She's flawless.

I now know the meaning of what dad always told me. You can't buy happiness with money son. That's the only thing you can't buy with money. So cherish what you have so you don't regret it when you loose it.
I regret making the only thing that gave me joy leave. And to talk of the  way I treated her... Jesus what was I thinking!  I'm a monster.
To think she still waited for me to change even after hurting her... She's incredible. An angel, My angel.

I blinked harshly to stop the tears from making their way down.
I looked back at her door longingly wishing she would just... I don't know invite me in...
I remembered she normally does that with people who come to visit us then.
I started walking to my car realizing that everything I was thinking were all wishes.

I'm going to get her back. I'll do all it takes.
With or without anyone's support.

Thank u for sticking up with me. Thank you for 52k reads, y'all are incredible.
