"For the last time, I'm not going on a date with some annoying girl." Ryder says as I followed him around our dorm room.

"Please. You have to do it. You could use a new friend." I tried to convince him.

"No, Lili." He says, sternly.

"Why not?" I pouted.

"Because I don't want to." He says, slamming the door in my face.

"Fine, geez. You're safe for now." I say walking away.

My phone went off and I saw that it was time to eat.

I sighed.

I can do this.

I went to the kitchen and got a bowl salad.

It's just food. It's good for me. It won't make me fat.

I took a spoonful of salad and held it in my hand.

It's just salad.

It's like it was taunting me and calling me fatty, fatty, fatty.

No! You are in control of your own mind, Liliana. Y. O. U.

This is good for me. I can eat if I want to. My mind can't control me. I control my mind.

I nodded to myself and ate the salad.

Good. See it wasn't that hard.

When I was full, I put the salad away, not wanting to force myself too much.

"Do you need a hug?" Ryder asks from his room door frame.

"Maybe." I say.

He walked to me and gave me a hug when I got off the stool.

"You did good." He says.

"Thanks." I blushed, feeling proud of myself.

"Ryder?" I say.

He hums in return.

"Are you going out tonight?" I ask.

"Yeah, why?" He asks.

"Are you going to that fighting club?" I ask.

He didn't answer.

"Can I come with?" I ask.

"No." He says.

"Why not?" I pouted, pulling away.

"Because it's dangerous." He says.

"My whole life has been dangerous." I say.

"You are not coming with me." He says.

"Okay." I say.

He looks at me with surprise.

"I'll just go with James." I grin and walk away from him.
