"Archie?"
The girls got dressed quickly, and looked at both of the boys, guilty.
Betty looked down, almost hearing Jughead's thoughts. The atmosphere was full of awkwardness, and Veronica crossed her arms, "Arch.. it's nothing against you."
"Nothing against me?" Archie laughs awkwardly, and then starts tearing up, "Veronica, I love you!"
"I did love you, Arch!...but I love Betty more.."
Archie shook his head, and left the room.
Veronica felt so bad, watching her broad-shouldered prince leave the room.
Betty moved her mouth to speak, but Jug interrupted, saying, "I can't believe you Elizabeth. Why would you do this to me?"
"Because.."
"No, never mind. If I hear the answer, I'll be more heartbroken."
Jughead turned to leave with Archie, and Betty fell to the floor, bawling.
Veronica moves next to her, hugging her tightly, "shh, Betty. It'll be okay."
From that moment on, Veronica had made a silent oath. An oath that would keep Betty as a friend, companion, and possibly future partner. She didn't say anything about it, but she knew that this is what she wanted. A forbidden love that would last forever.
