Their Little Hearts

Their Little hearts beat hard and fast,

As they lay in their incubators.

They try so hard to stay alive,

They've still not been able to open their eyes.

Some need help just to breath,

Others have just had surgery.

A few days brought into this world,

But without some help they won't stay alive.

Their parents worry day and night,

As they think of their babies all the time.

How much they wish to hold them close,

To feel their breath upon their chest.

They beg and pray their child will live,

But not all babies will stay alive,

Some will spread their wings and fly.
