Please, Don't Leave

I watched you walked out the door

When I needed you to stay,

I watched you walk out the door,

As I begged for you to stay.

It was clear you didn't want me,

You didn't need me at all,

You didn't want to love me,

To give me a chance at all.

But I needed you to stay with me

I needed you to love me,

I needed you in my life.

You never saw the damage,

You inflicted on me,

You never saw the tears I cried,

Hoping you just stayed.

I needed you by my side,

I loved you with all my heart,

But you were nowhere near to be found

And that simply broke my heart.

I would sit by the window,

Hoping you would show your face.

Sit by the phone,

Hoping for just one call.

Somehow you managed to find your peace,

A life far away from me,

I see now I don't matter.

That i'm simply not enough,

But the words replay in my head

"Please, Don't Leave".
