The Sea

I see the way the people destroyed the ocean,

My generation must undo what was done.

How I've mourned the shore out there,

Sea life hurting, Sea life dying.

Does the ocean make you shiver?

When you think of the damage inflicted.

I can't help but stop and look at the beach,

The place that would bring us warmth,

The place that would bring us joys.

But all i see is how things have changed,

Are you upset with how close it is?

Does it tear you apart to see the beach this way?

How happy we all used to be,

Running in the salt water.

The darker the sea.

But now it's dark because of the pollution we leave.

Gently it goes, the whoosing sounds as it comes upon the sand,

I can't help but watch as it glides away,

In and out, they whoosh away.

Out at sea is the ship,

Trawler men trying to do their job,

And simply catch some fish.

Theres a boot, A broken net,

What about the package

Wrapped around the fish's neck.

The ships must face the wildest seas,

The ship it creaks with every hit,

Tping the ship side to side.

The stormy weathers beyond belief,

It upsets me with how bad things are,

How wild and rough it can be.

Every time they make it back,

Claiming it was all a breeze.

I can't help but stop

And look at the sheltered vessel,

That some how keeps them safe.

Now secure is just the thing,

Not a single scratch, Not a single tear.

It makes me wonder how they do it,

The sea is not the same as it was.

Economy has changed along the way,

The life, the beauty it's not the same.

I think it's time we do something,

I think it's time to make a change.
