67 hours left
"I'm sorry Miss.Copper, we have yet to find a compatible donor." Doctor Philis explained to me.

I nod my head in response. I'm running out of time to get a compatible donor. 67 hours to be exact. I still haven't told Luca or Ava. I should tell them, I know. But how do you tell your son and your bestfriend that you could die in less then two days?

"Mommy!" Luca smiled as he came through the door.

"Hi Baby boy!" I held my arms out for him to climb into. He ran over to my bedside. I picked him up and pulled him unto my lap. "Who brought you up here?" I ask him looking towards the door looking for Ava.

"I did." Mateo spoke as he came into the room. I looked up at him and I could see all the concern in his eyes. "How are you doing?"

"I'm okay. Like I've said its just a stomach bug."

"Why is that so hard to believe?" Mateo asked me.

"I don't know. It is the truth." I tell him as Ava walks in.

"Ava, can you take Luca to go get something to snack on from the cafeteria?" Mateo asked Ava as the doctors came in to check my vitals.

"Sure." She sighs as she picks Luca up off my bed. He waves bye to me and I wave back and blow him a kiss.

"Tell me what is really going on." Mateo turns to me after the door closes.

"I just have a stomach bug. Can you just stop asking."

The doctor looks up at me and he looks confused. "Ma'am you don't just have a stomach bug. You have a Chronic Hepatitis, which caused a infection in your kidney, which is causing your kidney to fail." He explains as if I forgot. For a doctor he is pretty dumb. Mateo looks at me as I hide my face in my hands. I don't say anything neither does Mateo. The doctor finishes taking my vitals and leaves. Now its time for the questions.

"How could you keep that from your son?" He asks me in disbelief.

"Don't even think that I didn't want to tell him. He is only 2! How would you tell your 2 year old son his mother might die in less then 3 days?" I ask him as I tear up.

"How could you not? What about Ava? Were you going to even tell her?" He asks me as he runs a hand through his hair.

"She is my bestfriend. How could I tell her. All this is confusing. If I tell them it will not get any better." I sniffle out as I begin to cry. I put my face back in my hands to hide the tears.

"Ok." Is all I hear before I hear the door open then close. I look up and see the room empty.

Maybe I should tell Luca and Ava.

~~4 hours later~~

I'm laying on my bed watching tv when I hear the door open.

"We're back!" Ava smiled as she sat Luca down on the ground.

"Aunty Ava let me play on the playground!" He smiled at me.

"Oh, did you have fun?" I ask him as he climbs onto my bed.

"Yep!" He hugs me.

"I have something I need to tell you guys." I look at Ava who looks worried.

"What is it?" Ava asks as her voice cracks.

"I uh, I don't just have a stomach bug." I look down at Luca who is staring up at me with a frown on his face.

"What do you have then?" Luca asks me.

"I have a disease.. it is called Chronic Hepatitis." I look up at Ava who has tears forming in her eyes.

"What is that mommy?" Luca asks me in his quiet voice.

"It is a sickness in my kidneys." I explain slowly. "That if I dont get it fixed soon.. I can die."

Luca stares at me as he thinks about what I just said. Ava is trying to suppress her tears.

"You can't die. You are to strong for that," He tears up,"right mommy?" He asks me as he hugs me hides his face in my stomach.

I hug him as I try to calm him down. But honestly, I don't know if I'm strong enough to beat this, not this time.
