A werewolf thing

Chapter 29

~Trevor~
  Saphira was pregnant.

  My twin sister was pregnant.

  I had to make sure I was safe, and I had to make sure Ashton didn't do anything stupid.

  Growing up without a parent sucks, I knew that first hand.

  I ran towards the area in which the attack was taking place.

  As I advanced I searched the area for Ashton, I needed to talk some since into him.

  I saw his giant wolf only a few yards ahead. I pushed myself to catch up.

  The battle area was close, so close.

  'Ashton!' I shouted through the pack mind link.

  I saw his wolf slow down momentarily before increasing his speed.

  I growled out of frustration and advanced towards him.

  Why wouldn't he just slow down?

  'Ashton!' I shouted with more authority.

  'What the hell do you want?'
  'You can't be stupid right now!'
  'Why the hell not?'
  'Because Saphira is pregnant and you know it.'
  At my last words Ashton's wolf slowed to a complete stop.

  I trotted up next to him, the both of our wolves panting to catch their breath.

  'I know.' Ashton sighed through mind link.

  'Then you know you have to be careful.' I said.

  His wolf turned to look at me and I looked into his broken brown eyes.

  ' Why are you so scared?' I asked.

  ' I always said I'd never find my mate because I never wanted to, but I did, and I had never thought about kids and it just scares me I guess.' Ashton said.

  A low howl echoed through the air.

  My hairs stood up and a feeling of sorrow crept through me.

  One of the wolves was hurt, maybe even dead.

  I turned to look at Ashton who had his eyes narrowed in anger.

  I didn't wait for his command and sprinted after him towards the area in which the howl had came from.

  Dirt and leaves flew up around us as we ran.

  I stopped cold when we came upon the battle.

  It was easy to tell our wolves apart from the pack that was attacking.

  Our wolves were clean and healthy, where their wolves were dirty and sick looking.

  The main difference between our pack and the Ravenous pack was their eyes.

  Our eyes were the same color as our human form where their eyes were a sickly pale white, no matter their color in human form.

  I watched as Ashton charged forward and began to fight as well.

  I got in position and was about to lunge when I heard a deadly growl from right next to me.

  Before I had time to even turn my head a wolf jumped on top of me and bit down on my neck.

  I let out a loud whimper.

  'Trevor!' I heard Saphira's voice in the back of my head.

  'You have to stay safe!' Saphira yelled in the back of my head.

  I whined as the wolf bit deeper.

  I kicked my hind legs up and kneed the wolf on top of me in the gut.

  He let out a deep grunt and released his bite slightly.

  I had enough room to move my neck and bit down on my attacker's throat.

  My teeth were sharper than his and easily broke his skin.

  He thrashed around wildly as I bit down even harder.

  I threw his limp body off of me and looked around at all the battle. 

  My eyes met Ashton's.

  'You must leave!' Ashton exclaimed. I bowed my head in shame but knew he was right.

  I couldn't risk Saphira getting hurt over the bond.

  I turned around and ran as fast as I could out of the battle zone and back towards the house.

  On my way I passed several limp werewolves but stopped when I came across one of our own.

  This werewolf was the cause of the howl.

  I went forward and sniffed around for any sign of life.

  I found none.

  This brown werewolf was Simon.
