I am not sure what he is saying. But he waits, patiently, for my answer. When I don't know what to say he repeats himself.
"Well? What'll it be human?"
I swallow a dry gulp, my insides feeling like they're going to upheave everything I ate previously.
Torture? Not something anyone would opt for, right? But... personal lackey ... what would that entail exactly?
"Choose, or I will choose for you."
For fear that he will opt for the torture, I find myself stuttering over the words, "L-l-lackey."
His thin lips curl up into a half smile, almost like he was hoping for an answer like that. "Delightful."
