Jane and Constance went back to school the next day. Jane had small cuts hid by dressings. She arrived at her locker, opened it, and took her books. Well, she tried; she took the first one and all the others fell on the floor, one hitting her right foot.

- "God, why me!" grumbled the girl to herself.

The young girl sighed with her mouth and crouched to gather her books.

- "Need a hand?"

Jane frowned and looked up.

- "Oh, hi Max," answered the brown head with a small and shaking voice.

- "Hi," smiled the redhead. "So?"

- "Oh, uh, yeah, why not, if it doesn't bother you."

- "Of course not."

Max crouched next to Jane to gather her books. She noticed it was old books, already damaged, but some were borrowed from the school. She didn't ask questions; it wasn't her business. She gave her back her books, allowing the two girls to stand.

- "I wanted to thank you for yesterday."

- "I don't did anything except be ridiculous," answered Jane looking down.

- "No, I don't think you were ridiculous. It was brave, no one ever did that before. He is taller and stronger than you, but you still tried, and it's all that matter for me. I'm glad he didn't hurt you."

- "I'm glad too."

- "Don't worry, he won't bother you, but he will certainly bother your sister," pouted Max.

- "I'm not worried, he have no chance. My sister kicked ass worst than him."

- "(opens her locker and takes her books) What class do you have now?"

- "Um...(looks her schedule) P.E...What is it?"

- "Physical education, (Jane nods) it's sport you have ice hockey with me, you'll see, it'll be fun!"

- "Yeah...fun..."

- "Come on, (wraps her arm around her shoulders) let me show you. You're not talkative, I like it," smiled the redhead.

- "I don't know what to say to people, I'm not good at it."

- "It's ok, it's always hard to be new. I was new last year, but I've made some friends, well, I've kinda been assertive, but everything went better, I'm sure they will like you. You could eat with us at lunch, like that, you would meet them, what do you think?"

- "I guess I can do that."

- "Cool, can't wait!"

Jane began to stress. Her first day at school was awful, and now she was going to do ice hockey and meet more new people. She wasn't programmed for this!

Max showed her the stadium and the locker room. Jane didn't take sportswear, but Max told her she would have to wear an equipment, so nobody would notice what she was wearing.

She was now wearing her equipment, and their teacher told them to slide ten laps. The other teens jumped on the ice and began their laps. Max, sliding with Mike, realized that Jane was still trying to go on the ice, one foot on it and the other on the ground, holding tight the side.

- "Are you ok?" asked the redhead, stopping next to her.

- "Yeah...it's just...I never been on ice before..."

- "Oh, we can help you if you need," proposed Mike.

Jane nodded. Max wrapped her arms around her waist and helped to get on the ice while Mike took her hands to stabilize her. Jane tried to move her right leg, but the skate slid more than she planned, and the girl lost her balance and fell on her back, pulling Max down with her. Both burst in laugh.
