Billy came back. Why!? But why!? Max didn't know, but it wasn't a good thing. Or it was, she didn't know yet. Neil spent his whole day yelling at him for leaving, but he didn't understand that he left because he was always yelling at him. It was a vicious circle of stupidity. At least Neil wasn't hitting her anymore, but Billy was. She was trying to avoid him as much as possible, but Neil was forcing him to take her to school, which was as embarrassing as before, if not worse.

The teen and the young girl were in his blue car flying over the ground in direction of the school. She hated being in this car, she thought she was going to hit a tree every time Billy was driving her somewhere. The car stopped in a squealing, getting upside down Max' heart and stomach.

- "YOU DON'T GO OUT!?" yelled Billy.

- "Uh, yeah, sorry," answered Max with a shaking voice.

The redhead quickly got out of the car before slamming it. She began to walk, holding tight her skateboard against her to reassure her. She took deep breathes and slowly released the pressure around her skateboard. She saw Jane on the steps and felt instantly better.

- "Hey Jane," said softly the redhead.

- "Hey, I was drawing something for you," smiled Jane.

- "Can I see it?"

- "Not before it's finished."

- "Ok, if it's the artist's desire."

Max sat next to her best friend while Jane hid the drawing in her notebook.

- "Are you ok?" frowned Jane.

- "Yeah, why?"

- "You're shaking."

- "Oh, uh, it's, it's the cold, you know, it's cold in Fall."

- "Oh yeah, it is! My hands were always blue when we were staying near the bridge, with the water and all, I thought I was going to lose my hands!"

- "What were you doing near a bridge?"

- "Oh, uh...drawing, certainly."

- "Yeah, sure, what else!" smiled the redhead. "You don't wanna go inside? It's freezing here!"

- "Yeah, ok."

The redhead and the brown head stood to go inside. Max wasn't really freezing, but Billy was approaching, and she didn't want him to mock Jane, or annoy her, or just be himself! The two girls arrived at their lockers, and Max wasn't surprised to see all Jane's books falling on the floor when she opened it.

- "How did you do that!?" chuckled the redhead.

- "I threw them in my locker yesterday, hoping it would be tidied this morning. Apparently not," explained Jane.

Max crouched to help Jane to gather her books and put them back in her lockers, tidied this time.

- "You remember we have a test in history, right?" asked Max.

- "Yeah..." sighed Jane. "I'll certainly fail it."

- "Don't say that! You learned your lessons, right?"

- "I tried, but the dates are not my thing!"

- "I'm sure you'll do good, you're smart."

- "No, I'm not, but that's ok, I've other talents!"

- "Like drawing?"

- "Exactly!"

- "Any other talents?"

- "Well, I'm good at annoying my sister," smiled Jane.

- "Oh, yeah, I've the same talent!"

- "You annoy my sister?" frowned the brown head.

- "No," chuckled Max. "But I'm good at annoying people, you just need to ask Mike, he will confirm you that!"

- "I don't think you're annoying, you're funny."

- "Yeah that's true," joked the redhead. "And I don't think you're stupid, you see things with different eyes and not knowing history dates doesn't mean you're stupid it just means no one taught you them before."

- "Yeah, that's kinda true," told Jane. "I put the paper you maked on my nightstand, like that I can read a good thing before falling asleep."

- "Yeah? What was it yesterday?"

- "It was wrote that I was brave."

- "Yeah, you are."

- "Maybe, I'm not sure, but I like thinking you think I am."

- "It's because you are! You didn't hesitate to go up against Billy!"

- "I was terrified," stated Jane.

- "Which make you braver, because even if you were scared, you still did it," affirmed Max. "I would love you to see that."

- "You're maybe right."

- "I'm always right!"

Jane chuckled which made smile the redhead. They arrived in their class and sat next to each other, talking with the four boys. Dustin was showing Jane the last robot he built while Lucas, Mike, Will, and Max were debating to know which superhero was the best between Captain America and Superman. The teacher entered, cutting short the conversations. He gave a paper to each student before explaining what he was expecting from them for this test.

Jane was so lost, she hated history. During the test she made fall three times her pen, crossed out six answers, sighed of annoyance ten times, and looked outside five times. Max gave quick looks to her friend's paper to see how she was doing. She was doing well, and she noticed she had some good answers, which was a good thing, but Jane was struggling to stay focus on her test. The redhead gave a light hit with her elbow before showing her friend's paper with her eyes to tell her to finish it. Jane pouted and began to write again.

When the teacher collected the tests, he raised his eyebrows when he saw Jane's, but didn't say anything, not really surprised. The group of friends left the class to join the next one. When Jane sat on her chair, this one broke and Jane sank in it, stuck between the four legs. Her five friends burst in laugh, which amused her too, before helping her to get out.

- "I think I need a new chair," stated Jane.

- "You think?" chuckled Mike.

- "I mean, yeah, there is a big hole in this one."

- "Jane?"

- "Yeah?"

- "I was joking."

- "I know," smirked the brown head.

Mike playfully pushed her which made her laugh. Max gave her her chair before going in another class to take hers.

The day wasn't entertaining for Jane, she spent her time drawing instead of listening, which amused her friends who all received a drawing. She wasn't a schoolgirl, she knew that, but Constance seemed wanting her to keep going to school, so she was going to school, to make happy her sister; she owned her that.
