The next morning at four AM, the alarm went off to remind us it was time to get up and get ready for our flight. The kitchen light was shining from the first floor. Jean-Paul and my mother were downstairs preparing breakfast.

Jean-Paul was teaching my mother how to make homemade crepes for breakfast.

After breakfast, Jean-Paul and I went upstairs to get dressed, brush, and floss our teeth to get ready for the flight.

My parents offered to take us to the airport and drop us off, so we decided to let them.

When we got to the airport, we took our bags to the conveyor to be checked. Then we sat down and waited for the plane to begin boarding.

Time seemed to pass by quickly and before we knew it it was time for the plane to begin boarding. My father said a quick prayer before he and my Mom hugged us goodbye.

Jean-Paul took my hand into his as we started to walk towards the loading gate. I turned around one last time to wave goodbye to my parents. Then we walked out of the gate, and onto the plane.

As always, the flight attendant instructed us on safety measures in the case of an accident. We put our seatbelts on as the plane began to taxi the runway to prepare for take-off. We began accelerating and climbed higher and higher into the sky. I clung to Jean-Paul's hand the entire time and closed my eyes until the plane leveled out above the clouds. Although I had been on a plane before, it was when I was ten years old.

When we reached our acceleration, we unbuckled our seatbelts. There wasn't a cloud in the sky this morning, so we had a clear view of the ground far below.

Jean-Paul and I made small talk until we both got so sleepy that we fell asleep. Both of us were way too excited to sleep much the night before, so I had a feeling we would sleep the entire flight to Paris.

When the flight attendant woke us up, we were preparing for our descent. We put on our seatbelts, and I wrapped my arm around Jean-Paul's to steady myself. When we descended down into the airport, it was so dark. It was twelve midnight in Paris.

After we got off of the plane, we made our way to the baggage claiming area to pick up our bags.

We checked into a hotel for the night. Jean-Paul carried me up to the room and called in some pizza.

After we ate some food, Jean-Paul and I cuddled in the bed before sleepiness hit our eyes. Our eyes drew closed, and before we knew it we both were fast asleep.

The next morning, we walked to the Eiffel Tower and asked someone to take a picture of us. Then we decided to go to Jean-Paul's Mom's house. I had always wanted to see where he grew up.

We made our way to Celeste's house.

"Bonjour!" She shouted through the kitchen.

"Bonjour!"

When we walked in, our noses were met with a delicious smelling breakfast.

Celeste had made baguettes for breakfast with jam or butter. We sat down and ate our baguette4s, washing it down with tea.

"Can you teach me some french words? I vowed to myself to learn French so Jean-Paul and I can come back to Paris and visit his hometown as often as we can." I asked.

"You already know bonjour which means hello." Jean-Paul began. "To ask someone how they are is comment allez-vous. Then to say very well, thank you is très bien merci."

"Comment allez-vous Celeste?"

"Très bien merci," she responded.

"One last word you might want to know is the word please. To say please in French is s'il vous plaît."
