Everyone in the tavern was screaming.

"Jedi business, calm yourselves," I say, putting my saber away. I needed to go back to the Jedi Temple and alert the Council of this new Sith Lord - I didn't want Obi-Wan to hear though, he's been through a lot in the past couple of weeks. He doesn't need this, too. I ran out of the tavern, almost running into an old lady. I quickly apologized to her and she hit the back of my head with her purse. I rubbed the spot and continued to sprint down the street. Everyone was moving out of the way for me. I made it to the bottom of the stairs quickly. I skipped 4 steps going up the stairs. It worked - I got up the stairs faster than I thought I would.

I got to the end of the stairs and jogged to the door. I was very tired from the last 10 minutes. I walked into the Temple and walked to the elevator. I got inside and pressed the button that said "8". That was the Jedi Council room. I gulped as the door opened quicker than I thought. I stepped out and walked to the middle of the room. The Masters were staring at me. I caught Obi-Wan's attention. I looked down.

"Padawan. What brings you here?" I heard Master Yoda say. We hadn't spoken to each other much before, but I knew he was very kind.

"I was out of the Jedi Temple and, well, I ran into a Chiss. He asked me if I knew, an, um, Obi-Wan Kenobi," I say, glancing at Obi-Wan. "I asked him why he was asking and he said you look like a Jedi."

"You did what next, young Rye?" Yoda asked. I tried to hide my shaking hands.

"I knew something was off so I asked him who he was working for. When he wouldn't tell me, I asked again but I had my lightsaber in my hand and he told me there was a new Sith Lord going by Count Dooku," I responded. The Council was silent. It was like I did something wrong.

"You're dismissed," Master Mace Windu told me. I started to leave and Obi-Wan called me.

"Rye!" I turned around.

"Did you kill him?"

"I..." I didn't know if I should tell the Council the truth or not. "Yes, I did." I hurried out of the room right after I finished.

I got back to my room and started to worry. Would the Jedi Order ban me because I killed someone? Or would they praise me for removing an enemy? I was pacing in my room until I heard a knock at my door. I walked towards it, waiting a second before I opened it.

"Don't open the door! I have to make this quick. Windu is upset with you, but I made some good arguments towards him. Obi-Wan, Yoda, Plo Koon, and most of the other Council members seemed to agree with me. You're staying, and you're becoming a Master in less than 2 weeks," I didn't know who said this, but his voice was low and calming. I didn't know if I should trust this information or not. He walked away quickly and I went to go sit on my bed. I really didn't know who he was - it was strange, I thought I knew everyone here. I shrug it off and, again, plunge into sleep.
