Chapter Ten: The Immortal Thief

PERCY

We didn't have to walk far until the silhouette of the fortress came into view and Annabeth looked as if her eyes were gonna pop out of their sockets.

That will be gruesome.

"Won't they notice that we're gone?"

I waved a hand. "Nah. We've only been gone for ten minutes max."

They look at me like I'm ridiculous.

"It does not feel like ten minutes."

"Well the tunnel to get down here only took seven minutes compared to the usual three hours and we walked for about three minutes to the river of fire and it's been forty-three seconds since we left."

They stared at me.

"What?"

"How do you know how long that took?"

I shrug. "I just know."

They look at me curiously but they brush it off when we stop at the doors to the fortress.

"How did we already get here?"

"Things work differently here in Tartarus."

I open the doors and a smile makes its way onto my face.

"Yo! You ugly motherfuckers I'm home!" I yell and grin at Annabeth and Luke's faces.

Hyperion walks out from the hallway and sends a punch at me but I quickly duck and kick him in the shin.

"You bitch! I've done nothing to you." I say as Hyperion just grins at me and engulfs me in a hug.

"It's been so weird without you. Iapetus keeps bugging me and I have no one to fight with."

I smile. "Whatever lightbulb. Stop acting all cheesy and get your grubby hands off me."

He scoffs at me and lets me go. He then looks at the demigods behind me.

"Hyperion. Meet Annabeth and Luke. They've come to join us."

My uncle raises an eyebrow at me. "You actually got them to join?"

I pout and put a hand over my heart. "You doubted me that much? I've been trying to get them on my side for a whole year because I didn't want to kill them." I look at the demigods and smile at them. They look at me with wide eyes. "But then F- Kronos finally agreed to not kill the demigods and now we shall all live in peace. Happily ever after. Hyperion dies a horrible death and the Titans let Gaea prosper."

Hyperion stares at me. "You've got to stop that. Sometimes those things come true you know." I roll my eyes.

"This one won't. I promise."

"Wait! They come true?" I looked at Annabeth.

"No. It was a one time thing and he's been caught on it for years." I glare at Hyperion. "Plus it wasn't my fault."

"What wasn't your fault?" My eyes brightened as I turned around to be met with golden eyes. I run up to him and jump into his arms, holding onto his neck to keep me up.

"Perseus you've gotten big."

"Don't lie. I only grew an inch." I pout and he lets me down.

He pats my head and I smack his hand away.

"Is that..?" Luke starts as he stares at my father.

"Kronos? Yup."

"So these are the demigods that Perseus wanted me to spare." He walls up to them and inspects them.
