Icebreaker [Greentica]

Chapter 18

(Narrator POV)

"Yes!" Ukraine clasped his hands together, 

"What board games do you have?" Antarctica asked,

"Not much, Game of Life, Monopoly, Risk, Battleship, and Sorry," Canada pulled each of them out and set them down on the floor, 

"Can we all play Game of Life, please? Oh oh, and we could do teams," Ukraine chirped,

"Teams?" Greenland raised his eyebrow,

"Yeah, we're your with one person and you make the decisions and stuff with them as opposed to by yourself," Ukraine explained,

"Okay, but how would that work?" Canada unfolded the board and set it down on the floor,

"Easy, you start off married," Ukraine picked up the blue car, "Tica wanna be partners?"

"Sure!" he smiled,

"So are you two gonna get a car or what?" Ukraine looked up at Canada and Greenland,

"Oh uh yeah," Greenland simply grabbed the first car that happened to be red, 

"You guys can go first," Canada said, watching as Ukraine spun the wheel getting a 9,

"College or business Tica?"

"College, we'd get the doctor salary," He tapped his finger on the square,

"You guys go now,"

Canada sighed and spun the wheel,

"You really got us a one," Greenland mumbled,

Canada rolled his eyes and spun again, this time getting a 3.

"Ha you guys have to pay 500 bucks for a new coat," Ukraine smirked, Canada and Greenland exchanged a look as if saying What the hell did we get ourselves into?

"And that's game," Ukraine said, "Pretty sure it's obvious who has more money,"

"Yeah maybe because you guys had like, 13 kids," Greenland sighed,

"You're just jealous Tica was my husband," Ukraine wrapped his arms around Antarctica playfully. Antarctica laughed a bit, avoiding eye contact with Greenland.

"Tch," Greenland crossed his arms, trying to ignore the fact his facial expression probably gave away that he was jealous. The jealousy only worsening when Ukraine pressed his cheek against Antarctica's, both of them giggling. From the corner of his eye, he could tell even Canada seemed envious of the newfound relationship Ukraine and Antarctica had.

"Damn," America whistled from the kitchen doorway, taking a sip from the flimsy red party cup he had in his hand,

"Have you just been standing there the whole time?" Canada sighed, 

"I wouldn't say the whole time," America adjusted his glasses, "Just long enough to understand your all hopelessly in love with your best friend. Like god just fuck already,"

"Oh my god Ame," Canada muttered, "I don't know why I agreed to live with you."

America laughed, "Your all blushing like idiots so clearly there's some truth to what I said." he smirked to himself and took another sip of his drink, "Well I think I'm gonna go before Canada or Greenland kill me." 

"Canada your brother worries me," Greenland remarked after America left again,

"He's been a little, extra lately." Canada glanced towards the large TV in the room, "How do you guys feel about playing something on the Wii U? I have-"

"Minecraft." Ukraine said firmly, "We are playing Minecraft."

"Really? Minecraft?" Greenland scoffed,

"Shut up Minecraft is great," Ukraine huffed, 

"Um," Antarctica pressed his fingers together, "What's Minecraft?"  

"Only like the best game ever!" Ukraine said excitedly, "You'll love it."

"I'll trust your judgment," Antarctica smiled,

"I'm assuming we're going for survival?" Canada asked after handing everyone a controller, 

"Mhm," Ukraine nodded, "Just, don't kill my dog again Nada,"

"I'm still sorry about that Kraine, it was an accident," Canada frowned, 

"Nada I was just teasing," Ukraine sat down next to him on the floor, "Hurry up and start the world,"

Antarctica carefully got up off the floor and went to sit next to Greenland, who earlier moved to the couch. 

"You aren't gonna sit with Ukraine?" Greenland said quietly, 

"Mm, I'd rather sit with you," Antarctica matched Greenland's voice level, "And besides," He pointed to Ukraine who was now on Canada's lap, 

"It's a wonder how they're not dating," Greenland chuckled but stopped when he noticed Antarctica smiling sadly while staring at the controller in his hands, Wait... does he- did he like Ukraine or something? Greenland's feelings became a mess of jealousy and disappointment as he let the possibility sink in.

"I wish we could be like that," Antarctica mumbled,

"What?" Greenland said, his face heating up, "Did you- say something?"

"Oh, it's nothing," Antarctica laughed softly, 

I must've misheard him, Greenland sighed, feeling stupid for even thinking that Antarctica would say that,

"Hey Ren?" 

"..Yeah?"

Antarctica gently kissed the side of Greenland's face, "Thank you for listening to me this morning,"
