In the end you give up on the bird; you'll come across a better one someday. There are more fish in the sea after all. You will find one perfect for you eventually and it will love you for just being exactly who you are. Some relationships are simply not built to last; you hope the motmot bird can understand that, and with enough time, move on someday without any hard feelings between you too.

About 5 hours of walking in sticky hot weather and one intense evening rain shower later, your team finally decides to stop for the night and make camp. You set up your tent with ease, sort some of your breathable bamboo fiber socks and by then its already time for dinner. Absolutely exhausted, you head over to the fire and gratefully wolf down the bowl of mystery meat stew someone hands you.

Despite darkness settling in and it already being night, the rainforest is still surprisingly hot and humid. It's in a constant water cycle and you can really feel it, right now the residual heat from daytime must still be evaporating the rain from before. With all the rivers and mountains, the watershed of this place alone is probably ginormous.

Talking about water retention, you suddenly realize that you need to go pee. Problem is, for that you would have to, surprise surprise, leave camp and head into the dark green depths of the jungle.

Alone.

The only other option, because you have a big and fragile ego, is to wait until someone else needs to go and sort of tag along. You are really really desperate but don't know what to do.
