No need for second thoughts, you turn on the spot and high tail it out of there immediately. After all, when tiny judgmental children try to point you in a direction, its usually a good ol' classic trap. As you rush through the trees at top speed, a bug hits you in the face and your eyes automatically narrow. Then you remember the dubious child again, and they narrow even further. When you first saw the kid, you immediately recognized his type. The way he pointed his finger, all silent and mysterious like that, you'd known right away.

That one had been a crafty little motherf-

Anyway, you leave the miniature creep-o to his own devices and continue to race back to camp. It doesn't matter if you are getting slapped by palm leaves or being tripped up by sprouting saplings, as long as you get back to your crew, everything will be all right.

Finally, you spot your guide's floppy drawstring abomination of a hat through the foliage and relief instantly hits you. You stop in your tracks and give yourself a moment to catch your breath. No need for the team to see you so distraught and flustered, something that is obviously very out of character for you. You rest your hands on your knees and exhale; what an unexpected early morning work-out that had been! Almost a entire 100-yard sprint! You give yourself a congratulatory pat on the back, who would have thought that all it takes to break a new personal record was an ominous Indian child pointing you in the wrong direction.

Just as you're about to swagger back into camp and send off Salvador to his own little washing adventure, you hear a soft thwack! on your left. You turn your head to look and find a small green feathered dart embedded in the tree beside you.

Strange.

Before you can even think about where it came from, you hear a loud BANG! and the dart explodes into a million tiny splinters right in front of your eyes. All that remains is a giant bullet sized hole right where the dart had been lodged in the tree bark.

Even strangerer.

Three seconds later, the realization of what is about to happen hits home. Without needing to ponder much, you begin to hysterically wave your arms like a dying baby bird who can't fly and rush into camp, screeching at everyone to grab their stuff and run. At first, they ignore you, but once the bullets start to pepper through the tarp of their tents, the camp erupts into a frenzied screaming mess. You dive for you pack and along with Salvador and Emily, run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

You frantically half-run and half-lumber through the jungle as the gunfire shreds through everything behind you. The monkeys loitering in the treetops howl and shriek as they watch you race by, while parrots zigzag through the vines above you, letting themselves glide along on the thrill of the chase.

You burst through the giant leaves of a Gunnera, or poor man's umbrella, and stagger into yet another clearing. The gunfire suddenly stops but you know they must only be reloading. There is no time to lose, you mustn't give them the chance to catch up. Emily and Salvador, along with most of your team, stumble into the clearing after you, anxiously shouting at each other over where to go next. You know it's time to take over the reins and use your excellent leadership skills to bring your team to safety.

You need to quickly decide on a direction to run. You hear water rushing nearby, but there is no way of knowing if heading towards a river will be your savior or end up being your doom instead. On the other hand, you've completely lost track of where you are, so running further into the jungle is just as much of a gamble.

Everyone is counting on you and you have to make a decision now! If you hesitate any longer, you'll all have bullets in your backs and then you definitely can't run anywhere-

Ever again!

*100 yards are about 91 meters for anyone that doesn't know yards and yes, I had to google that myself. However plot-twist! I had to google the yards, because I don't know how they work. I don't even know if 100-yard sprints are even a thing. Are they?
