Embers pov

"Good morning princess," Devan softly whispered into my ear

"Princess?" I rolled over to face him "I'm a Queen first of all,"

He laughed quietly

His hands caressed my face.

"Man, I turn 21 and I can't even drink for the first time," I giggled

"Ember, don't you lie to yourself. You drank with me when you were 18,"

I paused

"I don't remember,"

"We has come back from the beach and you grabbed champagne for god knows where and you made us drink the entire bottle. Then we kissed for the first time,"

I thought back

"Ohhh yeah I remember now," I giggled

"It doesn't matter though. We decided to not drink at all,"

"True bubba," I said and he kissed me again

He leaned and kissed me softly

A knock sounded from the front door

"Ugh," I groaned sitting up "I was comfortable,"

I got up to go answer if before I turned back around

"I need clothes," I giggled causing Devan snicker

I threw on a hoodie and I kept my shorts on.

"Stay here I'll be right back," I instructed and he nodded before grabbing his phone

I went to the door and opened it

"Ember!"

I stepped back

"What are you doing here?" I said a little to loudly because Devan had came out

"Um hello?" He asked

"What are you doing here?" I asked again "no no wait. I wanna know HOW you found me here,"

"We have your location duh!" Chloe pushes me aside and stepped in and my parents and older brother Anthony followed

"Yeah sure come in," I muttered

Devan looked at me confused

"I'll be back," I told them and I grabbed Devan and pulled him into our room

"What the hell?"

"I don't know. My family decides to show up randomly!"

"Wait.. that's your family?" Devan seemed nervous

"Yeah," I rolled my eyes at the thought at them

Devan's hands went to his hair and he pushed it back. Something he did when he was nervous.

"What wrong?"

"Nothing, just that now I have to meet your parents AFTER we've gotten married and I wasn't warned,"

"I didn't know this was gonna happen!"

Devan shot me a glance

I didn't mean to raise my voice at him. I rarely did that

"I'm sorry," I said walking to him ands wrapping my arms around him

"You're fine. I'm jus ya little stressed now ya' know?"

"Yeah,"

"Hey!" We heard my dad call from the kitchen "where do you keep the alcohol?!"

We walked out

"We don't drink dad," I replied

He mumbled something

"Of course you don't!" Chloe exclaimed "you just turned 21 and your roommate is clearly 18,"

Both of us winced at her saying that

"That's why we brought some for you!" My mom said with a smile "Ian go get it from the truck," my dad left out the door

"Why don't we all sit down and get to know each other?" I suggested

We walked into the living room and sat down. Devan and I sat across from them.

"Could you be a dear and get us all glasses?" She asked me

"Sure," I got up

I looked around and I just grabbed regular glasses. Four glasses,"

I brought the out and handed them to my parents, Chloe, and Anthony.

"Aren't you doing to drink dear?" Mother asked me

"No thank you,"

"How about you?" Chloe looked at Devan

"No I'm good," he tensed up

"Okay," she was still looking at him as if she was checking him out.

"So can you answer me on why you're here?"

"We wouldn't miss your 21st birthday Ember,"

"But you'd miss my wedding," I muttered low enough that they couldn't hear.

"Ember," Devan said just as low

"So why'd you downsize to this place?" Me dad asked looking around

"Because I like it here," I replied

"So have you found a boyfriend?" My mom asked

"I did yes,"

"Did?" Anthony asked "what happened?"

"He's not my boyfriend anymore,"

"Oh," he replied

"What about you?" She turned towards Devan and batted her eyelashes "have you found someone?"

"Stop hitting on my husband," I said in a very soft whisper

"Emberlyn," he looked at me

"What?!" I said a little to loud

"Stop it," he said blankly

"Ugh," I got up and stormed off

Devan's pov

"Ugh," she groaned and got up and stormed off

Mood swings.

"Ember wait," I got up to follow her

Her sister Chloe stopped me

"Why are you following her?" She asked

"Because I need to make sure she's alright,"

"Oh she'll be fine, she's got thick skin,"

"No.. no she doesn't,"

I went to our room and there she was

"Ember," I said gently

"What?" She snapped

"Ember I didn't mean it like that,"

I sat down on the bed and I put my head in he lap looking up at her.

"Ember I just don't want you being mad,"

"Why?"

"Because when your mad it stresses me out and I'm already stressed enough. Besides when your mad your anxiety goes up, and then we spiral down and it never ends good,"

"You're right,"

"I know I am," I smirked  "Now come on. Let's get back out there,"
