Embers pov

"So.." my mother trailed off

"So?" I questioned

"So are you two just roommates or are you like best friends?"

I smirked and he also.

"Devan?" I asked

"Yeah,"

"He's my husband,"

Their jaws dropped

"You're married?" My mother asked

"To him?" Chloe pouted

"Since when?" Anthony asked

"November 5th of this year," Devan answered

"Why weren't we invited?!" My mother seemed a little angry

"You were," I said blankly "you just didn't want anything to do with me,"

"Oh that's not true," my father said

"Oh really? My 21st birthday. I can legally buy alcohol and you cane here to bribe me to do it since you all got banned from the stores,"

They froze

"Wow really? That's the only reason you came to see me on my birthday? I was joking about that but,"

The didn't make eye contact with me.

"Get out," I pointed behind them

"What?"

"You heard me. Get out of my house,"

"Ember that's no way to treat your family," my father said

"Guess I learned it from you all," I flashed a clearly fake smile "get out of my house,"

They didn't move

"I don't want you involved with me anymore. Or my baby's life,"

"Ember?" Chloe started "you're pregnant?"

"Yeah. Now get out!"

The turned and walked out the door

"And take your alcohol too!"

Anthony grabbed the case and was the last to leave.

I slammed the door and turned around.

"Ember?" Devan asked me

I looked up at him before breaking down

I pressed my back against the door and I slid down. Tears streamed out of my eyes

"Ember honey," he came up to me on the floor.

He picked me up in his arms. I wrapped my legs around his hips and my arms around his neck.

"Devan," I cried "I can't believe that I did that,"

"Hey, hey, hey it's okay. It'll be alright," he tried to comfort me

"I'm sorry," I said through my sobs

"Sorry for what baby?"

"Everything,"

"Oh but you haven't done anything wrong,"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure,"

And with that, I managed to show a real smile.
