The sound of Marvin Gaye's Ain't No Mountain High Enough blasted through David's speakers and circulated around their home. Sage giggled at how goofy he was being during their task of moving some of her belongings in. He carried the last of the boxes that contained her photos and photo albums. Most of her possessions were moved in by the moving service she hired the day she broke the news to her parents.

She thought she would feel a relief when she broke free from their constraints but all she felt was regret and guilt. She was enamored with the idea of sharing a home with David but that's where the joy stopped. Now she had a relationship with her parents seemingly beyond impairable and the constant voices in her head wondering if she did this at the right time. If not now, when?

As soon as she left her dad's office that day she put everything in motion. He was still paying for private school until she graduated but he froze up her accounts. Luckily, she transferred all her money in several new bank accounts beforehand. Money wasn't her problem, particularly because her boyfriend is swimming in it. Also, having money her whole life allowed her to be unphased by it. The main connection she lost was the little emotional connection she had with her parents.

"Why you thinkin' so hard, mama?" Dave flicked her lips playfully. She was seated at the kitchen bar with her chin in her hands, she didn't know she was leering off up until then. He came up behind her and placed his head on top of hers. He smelled of her favorite cologne.

"Mm, nun ya." She joked. She turned her head and caught his lips but before she could pull back he grabbed her face, deepening the kiss.

"You're here to stay," he mumbled against her lips. His large hands cupped her cheeks as he pecked her nose and then her lips again.

"Always." She confirmed. He tugged her hands and led her to their room, pushing her lightly on the bed. She stared up at his perfect face, full of tattoos that meant everything to him. It was like the puzzle pieces, they fit each part perfectly. Dave slid off his white crisp tee, revealing more tattoos. Sage wasted no time tracing his tattoos with her fingers.
