More Than Anything

The Sorority was tasked to have a book reading schedule on one of the sponsored orphanage. The children were divided into five rooms. Sa kada kwarto ay may lima ring miyembro ng Sorority na nandoon. The other members were tasked on the food for the children, yung iba naman, tumutulong sa paglilinis ng orphanage.

We finished earlier than expected. Nang mag-alas dose ay nakabalik kami agad sa campus. Some of the members didn't join us back to the campus because they have their own personal schedule. Ako rin naman, I just had to shower again because I smell like sweat and children.

"Going out?" Talia asked me when she saw me looking at my tops inside my closet.

"Yeah." I was still busy shoving aside my clothes.

"Kapag sa mall ka pupunta, pabili ako ng isang pack ng chocolates."

"Okay. May iba ka pang ipapabili?" I grabbed the sky blue puff long sleeve mesh top. My lips pursed bit before I placed it carefully on top of my bed.

"Yellowpads and ballpens," dagdag ni Talia. Tumango lang ako bago ako bumalik sa aking closet. I ducked under to find some folded jeans.

"You should pair it with white jeans." Talia suggested. Napalingon ako sa kaniya pero busy na siya ulit sa kaniyang cellphone. I picked my only white jeans and laid it down on my bed to see if it's matching.

Tumaas lang ang sulok ng aking labi. I grabbed the clothes and immediately went to the bathroom to take a bath and changed.

"Date?" tanong ulit ni Talia nang makalabas ako ng banyo.

"Nah, just something urgent."

"Still a date because you dressed up so nicely."

I rolled my eyes. "Almost all of my tops are puff sleeves and dresses, too."

"Powerpuff girl," biro niya. I rolled my eyes again before I picked up my white ankle strap block heels.

"Ang pinapabili ko ha?" pahabol ni Talia nang isinara ko ang pinto. The other sisters greeted me when they saw me walking out of the door. I just waved.

Nang makarating ako sa tapat ng campus ay nandoon na ang black everest ni Crithos. Bukas ang bintana sa passenger's seat kaya alam kong siya ang driver. I immediately opened the door and entered his car.

"Right on time," aniya at tiningnan ang kaniyang relo sa bisig. Bahagya akong sumimangot.

"I had to take a bath so I wouldn't smell like sweat beside you. Anyways, where do you want to buy the gift?" I strapped the seatbelt across my body and placed my small body bag on my lap.

He clicked her tongue. "Any brand suggestion or any gift suggestion?"

I rolled my eyes. "She's a girl. Any girly stuff would be nice for her."

"She's sixteen. She'll be choosy," aniya.

"Well then, don't expect me to choose a barbie for Catharia. Does she like make ups?" I asked him. Umandar na yung kotse at bago niya ako sagutin ay inikot niya muna ito. I saw his muscles flex a bit as he maneuvered the steering wheel.

"Maybe. I don't know."

"What kind of brother are you?" I asked him, hopeless of his situation.

"Like you, maybe." He shrugged.

Nagsalubong ang aking kilay. "What does that even mean?"

"Nothing. Any suggestions?" paglilihis niya.
