Chapter 26: Chance

"I want you to have some reports regarding the status of our ongoing store in Cebu, and make sure it'll be done as soon as possible. Don't make me wait for it," utos ko sa isang empleyado na pupunta sa lugar na iyon para tingnan ang lagay ng construction.

"Yes, Madam!"

"And another thing," I raised my finger in the air before stopping from signing some papers on my desk.

When he noticed my attention all on him, he stood up properly and counterfeit his valor to dare meet my cold and ever apathetic gaze.

The audacity.

I hide my smirk.

"Mr.

I sighed and shook my head.

"P-Po, Madam?" he stuttered in an awkward smile. "Ah! Hindi! Hindi po, Madam! Baka sa foundation lang!"

Palihim akong napanguso sa sinabi niya bago tumango.

"Alright, but aside from that, I want you to talk as well to Mr. Singson and send him my words"

He nodded attentively.

"I need to visit the estate he's marketing, so I want to meet him this coming Weekend."

"Noted, Madam."

I tilted my head and nodded. "You may now leave."

Tila nabunutan ito ng tinik. "Thank you po and I'll do my best." He then walks off and steps out of the room.

I bite my bottom lip after heaving a sigh. I swallowed hard and reached for my phone.

I lifted my gaze and arched a brow.

Corina cleared his throat. "Madam, nakareserve na po 'yong lunch niyo."

I nodded and stood up. I heard her close the door as I fixed myself. Naglakad na ako palabas suot ang isang white blouse at black trousers. Corina smiled at me but I just glanced at her and didn't say anything when I passed by.

Somehow, these past few days there's something strange about her presence. I shrugged it off and carried on walking thinking that perhaps it doesn't matter.

Pansin ko ang pagsunod agad ni Rouge.

When I stepped into the cafeteria, kusang huminto ang mga paa ako. I was too surprised to utter a word. I wasn't expecting to see Maximo here with my son.

Both of them wore the same style and color of clothes. Parehong nakasuot ng black polo shirt, grey pants, black cap at white shoes.
