Chapter 5: My dad was waiting. I stayed plastered against the door waiting for my nightly beating. After a few moments of silence I heard the belt smack against my thigh. There was stinging then the pain. He got me in the side next. I winced and held my side. He made me look up at him. I saw his arm raised with the belt in his hand ready to hit me. I closed my eyes and waited for the blow. I felt the leather belt smack against the side of my face. The pain was unexplainable. I slowly started walking to my room but my dad just kept hitting me with that belt. I kept walking and he beat me all the way to my room. I shut the door and slid down it with tears running down my face. How was I going to hide this from Ryland, Ross, and Rydel tomorrow?
