he won't let go when you hug him

He'd been gone for too long; three straight months to be exact. So it wasn't surprising that when he went to put his key in the door you opened it for him instead and jumped right into his arms.

He giggled at first and then hugged you, so tightly he lifted your feet from the ground. He carried you inside and closed the door with his fight then leaned against it with a content sigh. It was good to be home and being greeted like this was even better.

"I'm so happy you're home! I've missed you," you said in his ear causing a wide smile to erupt on his face. He felt you try to pull away so he tightened his arms around you and then buried his face in your neck. "Luke!" You laughed, trying to wriggle out of his grip to give him a long-overdue kiss.

"Aren't you gonna let go?" You mumbled.

"Nope." He said and walked to the couch. He fell back on it and pulled you on top of him. You could feel his breath fanning against your neck and you could smell his cologne on the skin of his neck.

It'd been so long since you last saw him. Usually, you can find time to pay him a visit or tag along for a couple of weeks. But your own job prevented you from doing that this tour and as heartbroken as you both were about it, you still made it through and it all felt so worth it now.

You moved your head from his chest and looked up at him. His eyes were closed and you would've thought he'd fallen asleep if it weren't for his soft smile when you traced your thumb below his lips. "I really missed you," he said as he opened his eyes.

He loosened his grip on you just a little, confident now by the look in your eyes that you didn't plan on leaving his arms anytime soon. But he was still hugging you close to him. Your chest was against his, your heart was beating in sync with his own, and he felt a lot happier than he's felt in a little while.

"Can we stay like this for a while longer?" He asked, blue eyes looking into yours. You kissed him softly and brushed your thumb across his soft cheek. "We can do anything you'd like." You said as you put your head on his shoulder.

"Good. Because I just wanna cuddle with you forever." He sighed, closing his eyes again.

"That's alright. We've got all the time in the world."

He heard you say before he drifted off to sleep, feeling oh so happy to finally be home with you again.
