How the heck are you supposed to have characters falling in love if they can't even kiss? Or talk?

When I draw lips, I fly through them very quickly with the airbrush (set to a lower opacity) and colors that I have already chosen. Usually, it only happens in one layer.

I apologize for the lack of detail but I honestly have no clue how I do it.

I guess basic art rules apply. Do the shadows, mid-tones, highlights. Go back if you need to. I guess I do multiple layers in the same layer. I also wish I remembered to take more photos of this.

So start with the darkest color you have on a felt tip soft brush. Turn on your sketch if not already done so. Trace the middle line of the lips.

If you want to turn off the sketch now, you can. Now, swipe in the shadows with an airbrush set to a low opacity. I like to do the thing that I explained with the eyes where you make it huge and low opacity and then small and opaque.

In a new layer (if you remember, that is), take the mid-tone color and go back over to clean up the lips.

Once the shadows are not too overwhelming, pop in some highlights.

You normally don't need too much of a highlight unless your character is wearing lip-gloss or something
