"Y/n! Just grab my hand!"
"I-I cant!" I gasped for air.

I saw Ruel jump into the pond and felt him pull me up onto ground.

I choked, letting air fill my lungs again.

"I'm sorry." he said, looking at me with guilt in his eyes.
"It's-it's okay. You didn't know."
"Still doesn't make it any better. Are you okay?"
I nodded.

He took off his shirt and laid it on the ground to dry. I watched as he went over and grabbed his jacket, wrapping it around me.

"Thanks." I said.
He nodded, sitting down next to me.
I place my head on his shoulder.

"I thought you would be able to swim," I looked at him. "You know, since you lived by the beach and I just thought that you knew how."
I laughed lightly, "It's okay. Really. You saved me, so don't feel bad." I said, grabbing his hand.
"Okay." he replied quietly.

"When did you learn how to swim?" I asked.
"When I was like five or so."
"Did you join the swim team?"
"No, I didn't like to swim competitively. I did other sports though."
"That's good. I'm literally the most non athletic person you'll ever meet." I laughed.

"Not true. Didn't you do like track or something?"
"I did track when I was like ten for one year. The only sport I did in high school was cross country but I only did it for a year."
"See, you're athletic!"
"Just cause I did it for a few months doesn't mean I'm athletic."

"Lies. I can do sports, but cross country is one of the sports that I wouldn't want to do, so I give you credit."
I smiled.

He wrapped his arm around me and said, "Once we're both dried, so you want to go get something to eat?"
"Yeah, sure." I smiled.
