ACT TWELVE: Promises Are Meant to be Broken

"What?!?! What's with the look you're all giving me?!" Si Steve.

"Honey, have you really realize what you're actually doing?" Si Thessa.

Sasagot na sanang muli ang binata nang biglang sumabad si Andie sa usapan.

"Uhm, I-I-I think P-Patrick doesn't need to be my chaperon, Kuya Steve. I-I'm not going to Glasgow this Saturday instead."

Muling ibinaling ni Mark ang pansin kay Andie. Hindi nalingid sa kanya ang lungkot sa tinig nito while stating her decision of not going to Glasgow.

Please Andie... Please, don't be sad. I couldn't bear to see you so down and so torn like this...

"There's nothing wrong with my suggestion, isn't it? You don't want Andie to go to Glasgow on her own so, I think the best thing to do is to ask someone that can accompany my lil sis!" Steve said again while glancing at his wife.

Hindi maiwasan ni Thessa ang mapa-rolls eyes sa naging suggestion na iyon ng asawa. Nilapitang muli ni Steve si Mark sa may pintuan at saka inakbayan.

"I'm sure it's okay with Paddy. I couldn't see any problem at all if you're going to be Andie's chaperon. Right Paddy?"

Naguguluhan at tila gulat na gulat pa ring ibinaling ni Mark ang pansin sa binata, pagkatapos ay kay Andie. Ramdam na ramdam niya ang pressure na nararamdaman ngayon ng dalaga, although he was as well in the middle of a very serious matter regarding his date with Andie which is this coming Saturday.

Oh dear! What to do, what to do, what to do??? I'm now caught in a total disaster that I've created in the very first place! Ugh! *sighs in disappointment* Right, I can no longer prolong the awkwardness that my Cute, Brown-Eyed Girl feels and it's my entire fault to begin with so I need to resolve this! *shrugs his shoulders and takes a deep but steadying breath*

"Uhm, y-yeah! T-That's absolutely fine with me and--- a-and I don't mind. I-I can go with---"

Muli niyang ibinaling ang mga mata sa nakayuko pa ring si Andie at dinugtungan at naudlot na sasabihin.

"--- I-I can go with Andie. I mean, I-I can be her chaperon!"

Unti-unting nag-angat ng ulo si Andie at saka tumingin kay Patrick. Napansin niyang bahagya itong ngumiti sa kanya nang mapansin nito ang naging pagbaling ng kanyang pansin, animo'y iniibsan nito ang pag-aalala at kahihiyan na kasalukuyang inaabot niya. Blinking her big, lovely brown eyes, a sweet but reassuring smile crosses on her small lips then she sheepishly stoops her head down. A very sweet but satisfied smile crosses on Steve's lips after he heeded what Patrick had said. He mutter afterwards while clasping his hands.

"Right! So, problem solve then? I think everyone's happy now!"

*closing her eyes in total awkwardness*

Is there any kind of embarrassment out there that is much worse than where I am right now?

Hay, sa totoo lang, gustung-gusto ko ng magpakain sa lupang kinatatayuan ko sa sobrang kahihiyan that I'm experiencing right now. Kuya Steve comes up with an idea asking Patrick to be my chaperon on Saturday just because Ate Thessa won't allow me to go to Glasgow on my own. I want to back-out na lang sa supposed-to-be date namin ni Mr. Cute, Tall Guy this weekend but Patrick insisted na he'll go with me. Pero sa totoo lang, I feel na napipilitan lang si Patrick coz of my brother-in-law's enthusiasm towards him. At isa pa, Kuya Steve has that "convincing" powers when it comes to people around him kahit na kakikilala pa lang niya on that certain person.
