The guilt

After pondering on whether to talk to Gray or not, Natsu slumped down on his car
seat.  Lucy was with Levy as they were going to her place and Natsu stayed behind waiting for a certain raven head guy.

He watched from his car as Lucy waved her hand at him as saying bye and he smiled waving at her.

He still couldn't  believe he finally got the the girl he loved ever since he was a kid,as his girlfriend.

It took time, and patience and a lot of encouraging words. She always told him no before ,refusing to go on a date with him but Lisanna's incident changed everything.

He don't want to credit her but he has to because if she wasn't there to provoke Lucy, she would still be denying her feeling for him.

He saw the raven haired boy getting out of the building and he walked to his car. Nastu punched the car horn as Gray turned back and find his eyes from the mirror.

He shook his head as he still continued to get in his car but the later blows the horn again. He took a deep breath and opened the door of his car, sat in and slammed his hand on the horn. 

This soon turned into a war as both of them kept going on and on. It was quiet funny as they both kept honking their horns at each other not stopping even for once.

Soon the principle got out of the building and their eyes widen. They looked at eachother and nodded. A smirk came to their faces as they accelerated their cars and pulled out of the school parking before the principle could reach them.

They raced eachother, challenging to go ahead of each other and the race soon stopped at the reached a clearing and both stepped on the breaks, and turned their wheel making the both cars turn to face each other as they come to halt.

They both got out of the car and stomped toward eachother. Their eyes glaring at eachother turning the surrounding in a battle  between fire and ice.

But in the end they couldn't help but laugh out loud holding on to each other's shoulder.

"Did you see that old man's face?"

"it was priceless."

"we annoyed him. "

"he was pissed. "

"should do a better one next time. "

"You bet. "

They stopped laughing as they looked at eachother. And a guilty look took over both of their faces. The place filled with awkward silence both not knowing what to say to each other.

"Natsu. I- " Gray started but Natsu stopped him with his words.

"I'm sorry Gray. I was just being a jerk to you. But I was angry. "

"I know. "

" she is really nice girl and she's only after you. Not like your other fan girls that once are with you and then at some other guy. "

"I know. "

"is that all you have to say. " Natsu said as he got tired of hearing just one response. But on the other hand Gray was not fine with this conversation. Not like he hates it but it's because this reminds him of a certain blue haired girl that was always running behind him with her heart in her hand.

"...... "

"I won't Force you to tell me why. But you love her. I know you do. " Natsu spoke with a confident because he knew this guy much better that their other friends. He was worried About him.

"I guess sometime things don't always go as you want them to. " Gray said getting  Mates attention who looked at him only to see a distant look in his eyes.

He was keeping something to himself. Gray wanted to let it all out but he didn't know where. He wanted so much to go against everything in the world but the chains that were wrapped around his feet were stopping him. Holding him back when he just wanted to run away.

Natsu felt guilty after seeing Gray like this. For the first time after the incident Gray is showing this much vulnerability. Natsu gaze drop to his feet in shame. He was Gray's best friend yet he want there for him when he needed it.

He was so angry because of Gray did to Juvia. But he never cared about what Gray was feeling.

Remorse.

Was what Gray had in his heart.

"I should have been there for you. "

"it's okay pinky. You had a reason to be angry at me. " Gray reassured the guy but seeing the atmosphere he thought he should tell Natsu everything.

"My parents they.... They are rival with her parents. Our companies are fighting for top spot and in between that there's also Lyon. He love her too. "

Natsu nodded at him but then two words caught his attention.

"your parents. You're thinking that far. " Natsu asked in shock.

"marriage? Yes. "

"what the-!!!!" Natsu said with a complete surprised look. He wasn't expecting this. Well not from Gray.

"I've never dated anyone Natsu and you know my ideology. I would only date someone I would want to marry. "

"I think we should stop you're being too serious. " Natsu said in a completely nervous tone as Gray stood there completely calm about everything.

"Lyon called me yesterday  "Natsu eyes opened wide at the name and anger filled him. He was still not okay with what Lyon did. " he told me about the date you planned for me. And also said he'll be backing away. He don't want to persuade Juvia anymore. "

Hearing that Natsu sighed. All this much happened with Gray and he only got to know about this now. He was such a useless friend was what he was thinking.

"wait! So now that Lyon is out of the way it's only your parents that are left. What's your next plan?" Natsu asked as he kicked the ground with the tip of his shoes.

"You ruined it today. " Gray said calmly.

"me!!!?"

"yes. I was going to see her today but you have to jump in. "

The information sent Natsu's mind flying as he just stared at the guy with an open mouth. He couldn't believe his ears.

"what?!!!! Am I your friend or not?! I'm only finding about this now!!!"

"oh! You are just a useless friend that I have." Gray said as he slapped Natsu's back and he turned back to repay the treatment

"You bastard!"

" but it's also because of you that I got the courage. " Gray told him and his mood calmed down.

"are you still going?"

Natsu asked and a deafening  silence filled the clearing.
