Stamping your heels along with the drum
Praying the serpent's underneath one of them
Like there's some villain left to defeat
Instead of a dance with a rhythm and beat

Hi! So I'm going to be doing something different given the fact that it's been several months since this session, and writing it out in length is going to be a drag. I'll be doing bullet points for this session, so we'll see how it goes. 

- The party wakes up in the orphan hideout and meet with the leader, a boy named Ian. Ian invites them for a meal and the group awkwardly stands out in a whole underground collective of orphaned kids. 

- The group doesn't decide to stay long even though Ian says they are more than welcome to stay because the orphans kind of need some protection from actual bad adults.

- The group moseys on up to the surface and finds the creepy kid again, who they have learned is named Twiggs. Twiggs is only there for a hot second and then a bird lands in Cedric's hands. He touches his forehead against the bird's forehead and it turns into a beautiful and almost glowing feather

- The feather gives a really good bonus to insight checks and gives you info about people yadayada--think of the feather of truth from Egyptian mythology 

- Party sneaks around the town for a way out but they're afraid of finding soldiers that the kids warned them about

- They hear a ruckus and find some kid being chased, beat up, and chained by a bunch of dudes in scary black armor and they carry a red flag that symbolizes the monarchy's army of Arden, the region they're in

- Cedric hella charges in to save the kid

- Battle ensues

- They do pretty good [Lorelei chucks a fireball or two on the men]

- Until they don't

- The black armored soldiers are very powerful and heavily outnumber them

- Cedric gets knocked tf out. Mortimer gets knocked tf out. Lorelei gets knocked tf out by a man who hesitates before smacking her

- Calypso has an 'oh no' moment and eventually surrenders because there's no way in the nine hells she's going to get killed. 

- The soldiers are ordered by some big bald mean guy named Wellington to chain them up and throw them in 'the cages'

- A soldier named Theodore Ronwin was sent to ask them questions to see if they're with the rebel army. They're def not and he doesn't believe them when they say the freaking duchess of Emeria has sent them on a quest for her lost husband

- Cedric messes with the guards guarding his cell bc he put up the biggest fight. He guessed one of their names right and FREAKED them out (poor Jeff) 

- Cedric also freaking PRIES the bars open and walks tf out and moseys on up to Lorelei -- que soldiers freaking out and dog piles him and put him all wrapped up in chains back into another cell

- Lorelei says "big brain time" after Ronwin ends up believing her and her story after she presents her scroll of pedigree. 

- "Madam, are--have they kidnapped you??"

- Lorelei tricks Ronwin into letting her out of the cage for air by the stream and then proceeds to fake faint (which she rolled amazingly well for) and Ronwin catches her and hauls ass back to camp for the cleric. 

- gotcha, bitch moment from Lei as she turns invisible before his eyes and yeets on out to get the others (Calypso picks locks to get everyone out as well as the kid named Reggie who was originally captured)

- Party now is all invisible by the help of Mortimer and they begin yelling in infernal to each other for direction as they run deep into the woods away from the soldiers who are scramming to get them

- Reggie finds them later, thanks them, then gives them a locket that "will help them find refuge when they need it"

- Cedric realizes there's a small blip of light in the oak leaf shaped amulet pointing in a certain direction
