"tom! you have to see this!!" tom looked up at her voice to see joanna bird burst into his room, clutching her phone to her chest with a grin on her face. the night before they really had run lines together once leaving the bar, retiring to their own rooms when they got too tired to continue.
"good morning to you too!" tom laughed, putting down his tea.
"oh-uh im sorry." joanna immediately stammered, now noticing tom was shirtless. having just woken up and not started getting ready for the day of filming yet. "oh my god i should have knocked."
tom smiled amusedly at the blush that appeared on joanna's cheeks as she looked around the room frantically, avoiding looking at his chest.
"no don't worry about it darling, one sec." tom moved over to his dresser and threw on a t-shirt before turning back to her. "what did i need to see?"
"this." joanna smiled shyly now, handing her phone over to tom that was open on her messages with izzy. her face was still red as her hand brushed with his.
"to joanna, from izzy." he read aloud formally, making joanna smile. "'i kissed joe last night-'"
"the plan worked!" joanna burst out, interrupting him now he'd read the most important detail. "im so happy for them!"
tom was still reading the messages when he felt the smaller girl wrap her arms around his frame.
"thank you for helping." she mumbled against his now clothed chest. tom smiled down at her and placed a hand on her back.
"no problem, sweetheart. the best matchmakers in town, hey?"
"definitely." joanna nodded and pulled away from tom.
"celebratory breakfast?"
"yes please."
