Day 38: I'm grateful for individual sports. Working and pushing to excel in something that you and only you can rise in is special. You work sickeningly hard to get better at what you believe in, or even to simply enjoy yourself; at the end of the day you're doing what you love and you're doing it well with no restraints. That's something to be proud of. You're the master of your pathway, and it's up to yourself to push onward or settle, it's all your responsibility. That freedom is something to be grateful for; you can do what you love without answering to anyone.

The individual sports I do/did are swimming, tennis, and martial arts. I do one of those competitively and seriously, I do one of those to enjoy myself, and I do one of them to learn and grow as an individual. I didn't do it for a group, I did it for me and me only; I had the freedom to do what I wanted with my growing skill, and that freedom is amazing. Saying I won this ribbon/medal/trophy solely because of my own effort is something to be proud of, because you just won at something you love by yourself.
