I Sold My Soul

I sold my soul to the devil today,
And first he asked how I had been.
I responded that I was okay,
And he chuckled at my grin.

I had summoned him from down below
And had my hands placed on my hips.
I was winging it, no plan to show,
Despite the smirk upon my lips.

This was routine, at least 'til then,
Until I told him my desire.
I said, "Devil, won't you be my friend,
Before I burn up in your fire?"

He looked at me with a glare
But agreed to meet my terms
We shook, and then, with a flare
The devil went back to his worms.

I sold my soul to the devil last year,
And today's my time to go,
Don't fret, my dear, never fear!
For the devil's friend will take the throne.

____________

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur
Long fangs, dripping blood, howl or a purr?

My, what a happy kitty, in a natural habitat
What bold, curved horns and leathery wings of a bat

A sleepy kitty, not so cute, demonic spawn
Finish your hunt, call your search before the dawn

Domestic or wild, who gives it demands?
Tell me whose blood it is, on my shaking hands.

What have you done? What've I?
Do I laugh with all my power, or do I cry?

I'm changed now kitty, just like you
Except that I hate what I do

I hope that kitty won't mind it much,
But everything dies at my touch

So here, kitty kitty, it's now time to rest
Sleep well knowing that we are the best.
