seconds between life appear
in the falsity of a war won fast
your friends all here, the sunset near
as you've fought the battle thought last.

seconds between life change
as the role of the leader did thrice
he gauges the range, the stars have arranged
but are you ready to pay the price?

seconds between life hold
as you are to your promise
a tale of old, not fulfilled for gold,
nor to hurt the child named Thomas.

seconds between life mourn
as you turn from the newly formed peace
your robes are torn, but you've sworn
to go, lest confusion cease.

seconds between life break
as your heart did, in that room
is this a mistake, are you even awake?
they all smile in the shadow of doom.

seconds between life shake
as you did in your desire to become free,
but high were the stakes, you were the snake,
was it ever meant to be?

seconds between life shatter
as the rockets on the other side
would it even matter if you told them to scatter,
if you warned them as you cried?

seconds between life catch on
as he did to your lies.
they thought they won, with the damage not done,
as you meet those tear-filled eyes.

seconds between life rest
as your hand did on the wall
the button been pressed, your precious land a mess,
despite his attempt to stall.

seconds between life plead
like you did, for him to end you
you did succeed in the traitorous deed
and there's nothing left to do.

seconds between life bid
as you did for him to pierce you
for you couldn't live with the thing that you did,
your karma overdue.

seconds between life falter
as he did with your sword
you stood at the altar, but he was your father
and didn't want this awful reward.

seconds between life relent
as he did to your solemn wish
your fate been bent, you were content
to end your life like this.

seconds between life laugh
for there is no happy ending for heroes
you were once that, now only half
as is the distance fly the arrows.

seconds between life tire
as you did in your final breaths,
last known a liar, outside raged the fire,
you finally looked toward death.

seconds between life ignite
as the smiles of his return,
in the darkness a light, a hat of green and white,
as around them still the flames burn.

seconds between life sigh
as you did, because you were the cause
the traitor on high, you made them cry
you put their dreams on pause.

seconds between life are bittersweet
like you, as you watched them rebuild.
lots to consider, the rivers meet
your destiny fulfilled.

seconds between life grin
like the children in the midst of the crater,
for they would win, and one would begin
to lead the people as a just dictator.

seconds between life shine
as the teeth in the smiles of the crowd,
their lives intwine, the stars align
a new era of peace has been found.

seconds between life leave
like the sun in a dusk of tranquility
if only you'd believed in the hope of that eve
and in L'manburg, your unfinished symphony.
