I walked into school in a good mood. Within the last two months, I've made the track team and the soccer team. I was happy cause those were both my favorite sports and I actually wanted to do something for the school. I actually had my first soccer game in a couple of days and I couldn't be more excited. I walked to my locker and a note fell. I opened it and it said

Meet me at my favorite spot. Don't be late~ J

I smiled and walked to his favorite spot...the gym. Did I mention that me and Josh have gotten to know each other better within these two months?I've learned things that made me enjoy him even more. I walked in and the lights were off. I looked around and saw another note on the floor. I picked it up and read it

Did you really think I meant this place? I mean this is one of my favorite spots but I meant the other spot, the spot we spend a lot of time with each other at. Cmon slow poke~J

I laughed and ran to our spot. I walked out the building to see him standing there in our spot with a sign sayin "Will You Go On Date With Me Please?" I smiled and ran to him. I gave him a big hug and I shook my head yes

"Finally, been waiting since the first day of school", he said as we laughed

"So when is this date?" I said we walked to class

"Saturday if that's ok?" He said as I shook my head yes

We walked into class almost late. We sat down and started the assignment

"So...what do I wear for this date?" I asked

"Casual, I ain't doing nothing too big. Ima pick you up at 6 tho"

"Ok that's fine"

Friday

Today was my first soccer game and I was kind of nervous. My mom was going to be in the crowd and I wanted to make sure I did a good job. I didn't tell Josh cause I didn't want to be more nervous then I was. I practiced with my teammates and then it was time to play. I shook the opponent's hands and got in my position.

The game was tied and my team had possession after the timeout. We go in a huddle and nobody spoke a word so I decided to speak

"Girls, I know it's only our first game but we need to start the season off right so who wants the ball?"

Everyone pointed at me and I sighed

"Monica, we all seen what you can do and we feel like you can win the game for us", one of my teammates said

"Okay, let's do this then. Win on three. One two three WIN!" We said as we scattered on the field. The ball was passed to me and I sped down the field as the time went down. I saw an opening and kicked the ball towards the goal. The ball went in as the buzzer went off. My teammates ran to me and we jumped in excitement. They all let go and I looked up in the stands to see my mom clapping. We both smiled at each other and I look over to see Josh smiling at me. I smiled back and went to celebrate with my team.

"Delilah right?" I asked my teammate

"Yea, you did so good", she said hugging me

"Thanks but that was all you. You were kind of the motivation behind that shot", I said

"Well I'm happy I could help. See you tomorrow", she said walking away

I walked to my mom and gave her a hug

"You did so good Monica", she said kissing my sweaty cheek

"Thanks mom I'm gonna meet you in the car, I gotta talk to someone", I said walking towards Josh. I gave him a hug

"So how come you didn't tell me you had your first game today? Matter a fact why didn't you tell me you joined soccer and track?"He asked surprised

"I don't know Josh, I was already nervous about this game and I didn't want to be more nervous with you watching me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you but your always busy with basketball that it honestly slipped my mind but I take the blame for all of this", I said looking down. He grabbed my chin and smiled

"I'm not mad but I just wish you would've told me. Don't worry tho, ima be at the next one unexpectedly since I make you that nervous. I don't wanna mess you up", he said as we both smiled. We hugged and then let go

"Well I have to go , my mom is waiting for me. I'll see you tomorrow at 6", I said waving goodbye

I got in my moms car and just looked at the window while she drove us home. I went upstairs to my room and just smiled about how my first game went.
