Edward's PoV

Looking at my phone, my lips pursed as I couldn't help but frown.

The date was shown clearly in white letters as the time ticked towards 23:00.

Maybe it is due to the time difference?

Today was meant to be Ariella's graduate from Gurenge Academy and I was sure that she said that she was going to come back immediately after her graduation. I remember it clearly.

Looking at the chat log on the messenger app, I kept on refreshing the page as the minutes increased and it was moving towards midnight.

Finally a call came through as her name flashed across the screen and I immediately picked up the call.

"Ari? Are you on your way home?" Asking eagerly I clutched onto my phone tightly. It's been a while since I've seen her. All I've seen was her picture on the screen in her selfies or video chats. Still, the true person in flesh is many times better.

"Ed... I'm... Kinda, how do I say this? I'm sorry... It seems that I can't come back yet..." Her slightly soft and nervous voice coming across the phone making me freeze slightly.

"Why? I thought you were coming back after your graduation?"

"My mentor... Without telling me set up concerts around the country... Apparently as a graduation present."

Hearing her hesitant voice, I couldn't help but soften up.

"So? How much longer will you be?"

A slightly lengthy silence as I heard the sound of a piano floating through the receiver. Somehow this silence made me feel like something bad was coming up.

"Well... He set it up for up to May for now..."

"MAY?!!"

It was pretty much a year? Now it was August and she wouldn't be able to come back until May?

"Are you joking?" I asked back, hoping that she just wanted to scare me.

"I'm sorry! Really I want to come back! But..."

Sighing helplessly, I understood that she was not the one at fault here but this was good for her. This would be best if she would go and do those concerts...

"Okay. It's fine, there's no need for you to apologise. I overreacted. Just come back as soon as you can. I'll always be waiting."

After a few comforting words, the other side went silent and the phone call ended. I couldn't help but lean on the headrest of my bed and sigh again.

Although I said that I would wait, it was still painful.

After realising my emotions for her, I can't help but yearn for her presence. Why did I have to notice when she was leaving? Gosh, I was really an unlucky man.

Still, hearing her regret in having to stay longer. Hearing her reluctance to end the phone call. My mood ended up soaring again.

Honestly I don't know what this girl does to me, truly the girl called Ariella drives me crazy.

Hearing the buzz on my phone, I swiped to open the message as an angel filled my screen. Her beautiful and healthy face was smiling brightly as a sticker saying good night decorated the photo.

Smiling helplessly, I replied to her with a similar photo and began to drift off to sleep. She may have ended school but it wasn't the same over here. Our school year starts in January and ends in November.
