Natsumi's pov

"Hmm.. Where did it rolled off, too?" I mumbled as I searched around the bushes, trying to find Sumire's favorite ball within the shadows of the night..

'Maybe, I should ask Sumiyoshi to find it for her in the morning?' I thought as I continued to check the bushes for Sumire's ball before suddenly hearing voices fast approaching

'Humans.. No, there shouldn't be any humans out at this hour.. They must be Demon Slayers' I thought as I quickly hid myself into a bush and waited for the Demon Slayers to leave the area

"I should be safe here.." I mumbled to myself, only to suddenly feel something pressing against my back as the rotten stench of a Demon fills my nortrils

"Huh?! Grr!! Get out of my turf, brat!" I heard a Demon growled as I growled at him offensively before baring my fangs and claws at him

"It's my territory, you wretch!" I exclaimed as I attempted to stab him at the chest with my claws, just to get my point across, yet he dodged me right at the last minute and tried to fight back

Needless to say, he wasn't the usual incompetent type of demon but he was rather stupid to try and pick a fight with me when there are Demon Slayers lurking around the area..

"Rawggrr!!"

"Go to hell, you brat!?" The Demon exclaimed as he attempted to swipe his claws at me, only to regret it when he accident destroyed our hiding spot and exposed us, just to makes things worst we were completely surrounded by Demon Slayers..

"Grrr!!"

"You little piece of shit!?"

"Rawgrr.. Die!!"

"Gwahh!!" I heard the Demon gasped as I ripped his heart out with my bare hands and crushed it to pieces without a second thought

The Demon groan and glared at me as he tried to get back on his feet with the small amount of strength he has left, that he barely notices the Demon Slayer sneaking up behind him

"Why you-?!"

"Water Breathing; First Form: Water Surface Slash!"

"Gahhh!!"

The Demon cried, his head was completely lopped off while his body, slowly, starts to crumble down into ashes and left no trace of blood nor flesh, apart from his material possessions..

"One down, one more to go" The Demon Slayer uttered, I growled and bared my claws towards him as I watched his comrades coming closer towards me for a striking distance

"Rawgrr.. If you think you can kill me you got another thing coming!" I snapped as I quickly prepare myself to engage them into combat, that was until suddenly their chests burst open with blood splattered everywhere, all over the place.

'Huh? What happened?' Natsumi thought as she held a confused look on her face, while she stares into the pile of corpses that was being set up before her by a few vineyard-like tentacles that were coming from her back

Seeing the vineyard tentacles on her back, Natsumi grew rather curious of her newfound tendrils however, it didn't help that she was already running out of time to save herself from coming in direct contact with sunlight

Setting her curiosity aside, Natsumi went to continue her search for Sumire's ball, only to find it resting against the base of tree covered in blood

Natsumi gave a small smile and took hold of the round object before making her way back towards the Kamado household, only to turn back to gather the Nichirin blades of her fallen victims, and bring them back with her.

At the Kamado Family Household..

Suyako's pov

"Sumiyoshi? Has Natsumi come back yet?" I asked as Sumiyoshi snapped out of his thoughts and looked at me, slightly surprised to see me

"Oh, um.. Not yet.. Is Sumire sleeping now?"

"Yes, she's already fast asleep" I replied as Sumiyoshi sighed softly before staring off into the forest

"Maybe, I should have gone after Natsumi.. It's already late and it will be dawn soon.." I heard as I smiled softly and tried to ease my husband's fears

"Give her some time, Sumiyoshi.. I'm sure she'll show up soon" I reassured as he sighed once more before nodding his head "I hope so.." he stated as we waited for her to return..

"Hn?"

"It's Natsumi!"

I chirped and smiled as we saw Natsumi emerged from the woods with Sumire's ball in her hands, Sumiyoshi and I smiled in relief as she came closer towards us

"Oh my.. What happened to you, Natsumi?" I asked, eyeing the blood stains on her clothes and those strange vineyard-like tentacles attached to her back

"I got into a bit of trouble trying to find Sumire's ball.."

"You really didn't need to go through all of that trouble just to find Sumire's ball, Natsumi.."

"It's okay.. I just needed to have some time for myself.." she replied as Sumiyoshi and I nodded understandingly and didn't bother to question her any further on what happened to her while she was out in the forest..

"Come with me, Natsumi.. How about we get you cleaned up for the night?"

"Okay.." she replied as I guided her towards the bathroom in order for her to have a bath while Sumiyoshi goes off to weave a basket for the katanas, she has brought with her

I smiled softly and went to heat up the leftovers from Dinner before going off to get her a change of clothes for her to wear for the night.

Sumiyoshi's pov

"There.. All done.." I muttered to myself before standing up from my seat and went inside with the basket I made for Natsumi's katanas

"Oh! Are you already done, Sumiyoshi?"

"Yup! I managed to finish but I'm not sure on it being sturdy though.." I stated before starting to fit in all of the katanas that Natsumi brought into the basket

"It's okay.. I don't really mind, Sumiyoshi.." I heard Natsumi stated as came towards me to have a look at the swords in the basket

"You can go ahead and sleep.. I'll stay watch for the night.."

"Are you sure about that Natsumi?" I asked, only to receive a gentle nod as Natsumi smiles at me with a sorrowful look upon her face..

"Oji-san and I have been training.. Now that, I have some Nichirin swords at hand, I'll be able to defeat a demon on my own.."

"Hmm.. Alright, be careful okay?"

"Okay, Sumiyoshi" she replied, I smiled and went to get myself ready for bed before retiring for the night with Suyako and Sumire at my side.
