At the Tsugikuni Clan Palace..

"What are the reports on my son's whereabouts? Has anyone been able to find him yet?" A Sickly Old Lord asked as he narrowed his tired eyes towards his court..

"Negative, my Lord.."

"Indeed.. Lord Michikatsu has hid himself rather well.."

His men replied as the Lord of the Tsugikuni Clan gave a stressful sigh in response, he really couldn't understand why his son was treating him this way and wondered if there was anything in this world that could make it any better for him

"Lord Tsugikuni! Lord Tsugikuni!" a guard cried as he barged through the shoji doors with great haste, panting slightly as if he ran a marathon all the way to the meeting chamber

"What, now?"

"General Tuyoi and his men have returned.. And they have brought a young child along with them.."

The guard answered, everyone gasped in disbelief as Lord Tsugikuni's expression remained unfazed yet deep inside he couldn't help but feel eager to finally meet his grandchild for the first time in his life..

"Where is the child?"

"General Tuyoi is escorting her here as we speak"

"Her? The child is a female?"

Lord Tsugikuni questioned, feeling slightly surprised to hear such news about his son's family, considering that female offsprings were very rare in their bloodline..

"Yes, my Lord.. Shall I inform the servants to prepare a room for her?"

"Certainly.."

Lord Tsugikuni answered as the guard immediately left to spread the news about the young heiress in their establishment

'An Heiress.. I can't believe it..' Lord Tsugikuni thought as his court members began whispering curiously amongst themselves about Michikatsu's child

"My Lord.." Lord Tsugikuni heard as he turned his attention towards the shoji wooden doors, only to find General Tuyoi standing there along with a beautifully pale young girl dressed in fine robes

"General Tuyoi.." Lord Tsugikuni called as General Tuyoi approached him and presented the child before him

"Lord Tsugikuni.. I present to you Lord Michikatsu's youngest heir.. This is Heiress Natsumi Tsugikuni, the third born child of Lord Michikatsu and Lady Mai"

General Tuyoi introduced as Natsumi gave a curious stare towards her grandfather before turning her attention towards her surroundings like a lost child in the woods

"Hmm.. She will make a fine heir to the Tsugikuni Clan.." Lord Tsugikuni stated as everyone in his court started protesting to his comment, yet Lord Tsugikuni wasn't having any of it..

"Silence! My decision is final! Natsumi Tsugikuni shall become the heiress of the Tsugikuni Clan, whether you like it or not.. Am I clear?" Lord Tsugikuni growled, making everyone sigh in defeat as they nodded their heads in agreement..

"Good, you're all dismissed.." Lord Tsugikuni cued, allowing everyone to take their leave while he takes Natsumi for a stroll around his household for a while.

Natsumi's pov

"You shall be staying in this room, Natsumi.. If you need anything, feel free to ask the servants for assistance" I heard Grandfather stated as I looked around the room that was given to me

"Okay, Grandfather.." I replied as he gave one last look at me before leaving the room with General Tuyoi along side him..

By the time they left the room, I immediately relaxed my shoulders as I felt slightly relieved to finally have some personal space in such an unfamiliar place

Normally, I didn't mind having company but I couldn't help it, I was feeling absolutely depressed about myself and acknowledging the fact that I couldn't protect the only people that I cared about just made it a thousand times worst for me

I will make him pay, Muzan Kibutsuji will pay for everything that he has done to me and I will make sure he will feel my wrath, even if it takes a hundred years just to achieve that goal..

'Otou-san.. Oji-san.. I'll get you back, someday.. And, I will kill Muzan Kibutsuji with my very hands!' I thought as I slowly began to clear my head from any murderous thoughts, and went to have some rest for the meantime while everyone prepares for the Banquet, that Grandfather arranged this evening.

Later that Evening, At the Demon Slayer Headquarters..

Rengoku's pov

"Are you sure about attending that celebration, Oyakata-sama?" I asked, giving Oyakata-sama a concerned look on my face as he nodded his head with a soft smile on his lips

"Yes, I'm certain.. What harm would it do, to attend a fellow clan's succession ceremony?" he replied as we sighed softly in disappointment

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go to this ceremony but are you sure about going there alone? Why not bring two of us with you Oyakata-sama? If it's a celebration wouldn't there me a ton of people attending?" Kaze asked before turning his head towards Suiren with an expecting look on his face

"Tsk.. Then that would lead to more trouble.. A demon might show up to that ceremony and just kill everyone at sight" Suiren stated, turning her head towards the Oyakata-sama as he gave a soft sigh

"Fine.. I'll take at least four of you to the ceremony, only if you don't make a scene" Oyakata-sama stated as we nodded in agreement to his conditions and went with him to attend the succession ceremony with him..

At the Tsugikuni Clan Estate..

"Keep your eyes peeled for any demons.." Suiren whispered as Kaze and I nodded in agreement while Kibisii gave a small thumbs up before going off to have a look around himself

"Rengoku, you'll stay with the Oyakata-sama.. Come find us if anything happens" Suiren stated as she and Kaze went off to search at the Eastern side of the household, leaving me behind to watch over the Oyakata-sama and his family at this celebration.

Suiren's pov

'Dammit! There's too many people!' I thought as I tried to push through the crowd and make my way towards the court yard, only to end up getting forced back inside by the guards stationed at the entrance of the room

I growled low in irritation as I tried to make my way back to Kaze and Kibisii to check on them, only to find them interrogating the servants at the buffet table, for any unusual activities going around

"Kaze! Kibisii!" I called as Kaze and Kibisii immediately broke off their little chat with the servants before coming to regroup with me at the Oyakata-sama's table..

"Any luck?" Rengoku asked as I sighed and gave a simple answer while Kibisii shook his head, leaving Kaze to give a more dramatic answer just for fun

"May I have your attention please!" A voice hollared as we turned our attention towards a sickly old man along with everyone else in the room

"Welcome everyone to the Tsugikuni Clan's succession ceremony, I am quite please to see you all coming in here to attend this momentous occasion.." the old man stated as he continued to make his speech yet I couldn't help but feel slightly pissed at the thought of seeing Yoriichi again in his fancy new life

'Tsk.. I can't believe that traitor is here' I thought as I began to grumble to myself and balled my hands into a fist, yet the moment the old man was about to introduce the star celebrant of this occasion

All of my thoughts were shattered at the moment I heard that man called out someone else's name that didn't belong to that traitor.
