At the Ubuyashiki Family Household..

'Is she serious?' The Hashiras thought as they stared towards Natsumi in disbelief, they couldn't help but wonder whether or not, she was actually serious with her offer..

"Wait, Hinokami! Are you sure that this is a good idea? What about the Twelve Kitsuki? Wouldn't their identities be exposed by this?" Tanjiro asked as he brought his slumbering sibling towards his lap after being freed from his restraints by Natsumi

the Oyakata-sama was shocked, he couldn't believe what he was hearing while the Hashiras grew puzzled with his question

'The Twelve Kitsuki? Who the heck are the Twelve Kitsuki?' The Hashiras' thought as they stared towards Natsumi with a curious look upon their faces before glancing over towards their Master, only to see the amused smile upon his face..

"How intriguing.. Very well, I shall accept your offer, Demoness.." The Oyakata-sama replied as the Hashiras' eyes widen with shock from their master's answer

"Oyakata-sama! Surely, you can't be serious with your decision!?"

"She's a Demon! There's no way we'd ever trust a demon!"

"I agree.. How can we be certain she is trustworthy, Oyakata-sama? What kind of evidence does she have that proves her innocence?"

The Hashira complied argued, it's true that Natsumi seems trustworthy enough but what would happen if she were to betray them and expose all of their plans to Kibutsuji's Demons, there's no doubt that she'd be the cause of their downfall..

"Tsk.. How nostalgic.." Natsumi murmured as she turns her back upon the Hashiras, before strolling over towards her underlings, to tend to their injuries..

The Oyakata-sama couldn't help but sigh at his children's reactions, yet he couldn't blame them since he made this decision on his own without their opinion, just like what he did for Tanjiro and Nezuko

Deciding to be the bigger man of the situation, the Oyakata-sama began  explaining his reasons to his children, only to receive a ton of negative opinions from the Hashira of his decision but like what he had thought earlier during Tanjiro's case, he was having none of it..

"There's no use in trying to change my mind now, my children.. My decision is final.. Considering that this isn't a trail that is needed to be judge, nor one that requires another's opinion.." The Oyakata-sama stated, only to hear a light chuckle coming from the Demoness as she carries the Younger Kamado in her arm while the Elder clung to her side like a little child..

"I'm glad to hear it that way, Master Ubuyashiki.. We shall be taking our leave now, farewell.." Natsumi uttered as she casts a Blood Demon Art spell to transport herself to the Shingetsu Fortress along with her precious underlings.

At the Shingetsu Fortress, Lotus Mansion.. A Few Minutes after their Arrival..

"You really should have been more careful with that Lower Kizuki, Tanjiro.. You could have been killed if Nezuko hadn't encountered him first before you did.." Natsumi scolded lightly as she proceeds to treat Tanjiro's wounds before dressing him in a patient's attire for the meantime, considering that his uniform was completely ruined from battle

"I know.. I know.. I'm sorry for making you worry so much, Hinokami.. I guess, I should have thought things through before jumping in for battle.." Tanjiro replied, only to hear a gentle sigh coming from Natsumi  as she sat down on the side of his bed and starts cuddling him like worried mother

"It doesn't matter.. At least, you were able to make it back in one piece.." She said as Tanjiro felt a familiar warmth coming from Natsumi's embrace

'So warm.. It's almost like.. It's almost like Mom hasn't left us..' Tanjiro thought as he fought back tears that threatened to fall from his eyes, only to burst out crying when Natsumi whispered in his ear to let them fall..

"Are you alright now, Tanjiro?" Natsumi asked as Tanjiro sniffles and nodded his head before wiping off the tears from his eyes while Natsumi strokes the back of his head, only to suddenly hear the doors slid open as the Former Flower Hashira came to view..

"Kanae? How's Nezuko doing?" Natsumi asked as Kanae gave a relieving sigh before telling her the good news

"Nezuko is doing fine! Thankfully, Doctor Tamayo was able to deliver Nezuko's medicine in time before any more of Kibutsuji's cells starts multiplying again" Kanae replied as Tanjiro felt relieved to hear that

"Is she going to be alright now?" Tanjiro asked, only to receive a couple of nods coming from Natsumi and Kanae which reassured him from his worries..

"Nezuko should be fine in a couple of days.. She still needs to recuperate from all of the blood she lost in battle.." Kanae replied as Natsumi nodded her head in agreement

"It might take some time for her to recuperate but she should be back on her feet in no time.. For now, you should focus on your own wounds and rest.. I'll handle everything with the Demon Slayer Corps, so don't worry about missing out on any of your missions, alright?" Natsumi asked as she looked at him with a concerned look upon her face, knowing how much of a hard-head the boy was, she couldn't help but feel concerned about his well-being

"No problem, Hinokami" Tanjiro responded as he reassures her with a bright smile upon his face and watched as Natsumi and Kanae proceeded to their leave from his room..

By the time the door shut, Tanjiro sighed as he tries to get himself some rest before Natsumi finds out and starts treating him like a baby, like she always does when he was still a kid

Yet, that being said, he still couldn't help but think about what happened earlier at the Demon Slayer Corps, he could already say that this was a side that he had never seen before from Natsumi..

'Did we really made her worry for us that much? Or, is it because Hinokami cares for us like family?'
