5. Won't give up.

ZAISHA

"Aishi, you need help?" Riya asked me.

"Arre mai thik hu." I laughed.

I got up from the bed and limped towards my bag. Removing a black sweatpant out from the bag, I limped towards the room door to lock it.

I took off my shorts and pulled up the sweatpant. Letting the same tshirt stay, I tied my hair into a bun.

Limping again, this time towards the room intercom, I called the reception and asked for an icepack.

They sent the icepack in about two minutes and I couldn't be more grateful. I sat on the bed and kept the icepack on my ankle.

"Why are you smiling?" Riya asked, all of a sudden.

"Huh?"

I looked up at her.

"Why are you smiling?" She repeated, this time with a smirk.

Wow, I didn't even realise I was smiling.

"Oh yeah, Abhay. Ahem." She fake coughed.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes, but a smile played on my face.

There was a knock on the door.

Riya opened it and in came everybody.

God, I missed them so much.

I looked at Abhay, who was laughing at something Kamlesh said.

The boy does not even know the effect he has on me.

If only my insecurities didn't overpower my feelings I could've called him mine.

Shaking my thoughts away, I looked at my ankle which looked fine now.

Abhay lifted my legs and sat on the bed, keeping my legs on his lap. He grabbed the icepack from my hand and kept it on my ankle.

"Tu aaraam se baith." He said.

I smiled at him and moved back, the headboard supporting my back.

"So, what are we doing today?" Shubman asked.

"There's a pool here, so what say?" Mayank asked.

After everyone agreed on it, Abhay spoke.

"You guys go, I'll stay here with Aish."

"Hello? I'm going down to the pool, okay." I said.

"Yeah right, with this ankle?" He asked, glaring at me.

"My ankle is fine." I huffed, pulling my ankle back.

I stood straight on my feet and jumped on the spot only to regret my decision. Pain shot through my ankle and I hissed while sitting back on the bed.

"Exactly." Abhay said, giving me a sarcastic smile.

He pulled my ankle back, keeping it on his lap.

"She'll be fine within a day." He said, examining my ankle.

"You guys go, I'll see if I can come later." I told the rest of them.

They sat back saying they wouldn't go without me, but I convinced them somehow.

Abhay walked towards the door to lock it after all of them exited the room, while I stood on my feet and tried walking.

"Aish, sit." He said.

I rolled my eyes and just stood on the spot.

He smiled at me and walked to where I was standing, before sliding his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

He looked into my eyes and then kissed me forehead.

I don't know what got into me that I hugged him, tightly I might add.

"I missed you so much." I whispered.

"I missed you too." He said, kissing my temple.

This, right here, in his arms, felt so secure. I wouldn't even trade this for anything in the world.

Abhay is really special to me. He's the only one I wouldn't mind losing sleep for, the only one who crosses my mind throughout the day. He's the only one who can make me smile without even trying, bring down my mood without the intention to and affect my emotions with every action of his. I can't explain with just words how much he means to me, but he's the only one I'm afraid of losing and the one I want to keep in my life.

In spite of all this, I'm letting my insecurities and fear come in between the two of us. I'm letting them destroy the beautiful thing we have which can turn into something more beautiful.

"Aish." He called out.

"Hmm?" I said, pulling away to look at him.

"I won't give up." He said, looking into my eyes.

Before I could say anything, he spoke again.

"I'm not going anywhere. I won't leave. I won't give up. On us. And I'll be here every single time you need me. You can doubt it. You can try to push me away because you think I'll just leave anyway but that will never be true. I don't care if there are a hundred reasons to leave.... you're the only reason I'll ever need to stay."
