ZAISHA

Abhay and I spent the next two hours watching a film and munching on popcorn.

Riya came in a few minutes later after we had finished the movie. Before entering the bathroom she informed us that the rest of them would be coming over in a couple of minutes.

I just kept thinking about what Abhay said back then.

Honestly, I shouldn't be this close to him. I just don't want to give him hopes and shatter it again. I can't do this to him.

"Aish?"

I looked up at Abhay, who looked at me with a worried face.

The boy is so genuine. It kills me to not being able to give him the happiness he deserves.

"Tu thik hai?" He asked.

I nodded and shifted my gaze to my ankle now.

Zaisha, keep your distance from Abhay. You cannot just give him hopes and leave anytime you want. That's really wrong.

"What's bothering you?" He asked me.

"Nothing Abhay." I answered.

"Aish, you can tell me." He said.

"I said it's nothing." I replied rudely, looking at him.

He looked taken aback for a second before mumbling an okay.

I shook my head before saying, "I'm sorry Abhay. It's just I can't come into your life anytime I want, give you hopes and then just shatter them and leave."

"Aish, listen." He said, cupping my face.

"You aren't doing anything. Don't blame yourself for nothing." He stated.

I looked down, shaking my head.

He kept his finger below my chin and made me look at him. He smiled before looking at my lips. That's when I noticed how close we were.

"Guys whe- oh sorry!" Riya shouted and turned her back at us.

Abhay chuckled before sitting back in his previous position.

"It was nothing, Riya." Abhay said.

"Yeah right." She laughed and turned to face us.

"The others didn't come yet?" She asked.

"Nope."

Just then, there started a knocking spree on our door.

"Coming guys!" Riya shouted.

She opened the door, letting the others come in.

Kamlesh straight away walked to the intercom and pressed a button before ordering lunch for all of us.

Everyone sprawled themselves around the room. I was sitting in between Abhay and Shubman on the bed.

"Can we please go somewhere tonight?" I asked.

"You think Abhay would let you?" Manjot chuckled.

"She can do whatever she wants. It's not like I control her life or something." Abhay said, shrugging his shoulders.

"So where are we going?" I asked, excitedly.

"Bharawan Da Dhaba!" Mayank exclaimed.

The boys started talking about how tasty the food is in that Dhaba while Riya, Dhriti and I just looked at them.

"Aish, you've been to Amritsar before, don't tell me you haven't gone to Bharawan Da Dhaba!" Abhay looked at me in shock.

I shook my head as if saying no.

"You'll love the food!" He said.

"So it's finalized. Bharawan Da Dhaba tonight!" Mayank said.

Our lunch came a few minutes later. Kamlesh had ordered eight punjabi thalis.

We decided to watch 'Good Newws' while eating lunch.

"So, you're sure?" Abhay whispered.

I looked at him with a confused look on my face.

"You don't want to give us a chance?" He asked.

"We spoke about this." I whispered back, not wanting to disturb others.

"I know, but I'm just asking you again." He said.

"My answer isn't going to change Abhay."

"Fine." He shrugged.

I looked at him for a couple of seconds before shifting my gaze back to the screen.

I wonder what's going on in that mind of his.
