Jennie was hunched over, a fit of laughter having overtaken her. All she could manage through the silent laughter and gasps for air was, "Stop! Stop! I can't..." She waved her arm in the air to shush Jisoo, but she kept on.

Jisoo was throwing a mock tantrum after Jennie had brutally murdered her crazy eights strategy by making her pick up five cards.

"Screw this," Jisoo cried. "I was letting you win anyway!"

And with that Jisoo tossed her handful of cards into the air and crossed her arms over her chest, frowning harshly.

Jennie roared, tears streaming down her chubby cheeks. She grasped at her stomach which was now aching from the whole episode. "Yeah, I'll bet you were!"

The cat-eyed girl looked around at the cards, strewn all over the table and the grass below. "I'll take that as a forfeit!"

Jennie pulled herself together and wiped her wet face with her hoodie's sleeve. Finally composing herself she looked over the table at her competitor, whose suppressed snickering was evident underneath Jisoo's fiery expression.

Jisoo let the facade fall away and began to crack up.

After they had both recovered they sat in silence for a minute. Jisoo beamed at Jennie from across the table.

Jisoo's hair was messed up from her play-outburst and Jennie couldn't help but smile back. Her tummy did a little flip, this time for a different reason than laughter.

Suddenly Jennie remembered the terms of the game and her eyes lit up. Jisoo pursed her heart-shaped lips quizzically at Jennie's new expression.

Jennie cleared her throat and, without breaking eye contact, reached out her arm and pointed out at the dock. "March, miss."

Jisoo hung her head low, now regretting her playful suggestion to put a wager on the game. "Oh come on, it was only a joke..."

But Jennie cut her off. "Oh no no no, don't think you can back out now, buddy. I'm sure you would cashed in if I had been the loser!"

Jennie stood and quickly made her way around the table and, in an act of uncharacteristic bravery, took Jisoo hand in hers and pulled hard.

"Move it!" Jennie commanded.

Her prisoner in tow, Jisoo's feet dragging and mouth pouting, Jennie strode confidently across the lawn and down the dock.

All the while, Jisoo protested and tried to bargain her way out of it. When they reached the end, Jennie tried not to gasp.

The sight before them was utterly breathtaking. The lake was totally calm, not a ripple on its surface, and the moon was gleaming in the clear night sky. Its light shimmered across the water.

Jennie felt a gentle squeeze on her hand and in a moment of clarity realized that she and this stunning woman were holding hands, facing out onto a scene straight from a harlequin romance.

She caught a glimpse of Jisoo beside her, also surveying the scene, and turned her head very slowly, almost afraid that if she looked too quickly Jisoo would vanish like a mirage.

"Don't make me push you," Jennie whispered. She heard Jisoo sigh heavily, resigned to her fate.

In a blur Jisoo kicked off her shoes, tossed her jeans to the side, and tore her sweater off over her head. In one swift movement she dove gracefully off the end of the dock and was gone under the surface.
