Narrator's POV.

Sherlock went out to go to see Molly he needed something to do and some suggestions on where to start teaching Everett, he said when he came back he would give him his first lesson on the violin. He gave Everett a new one and said to try it while he was out and that Uncle John was in the kitchen familiarising himself with a new recipe if he needs him.  So once Sherlock was gone he picked it up and gave it a go, sure that no one was listening. He put it on his shoulder like he'd seen his dad do then he moved it till he was sure he could access all of it well with both hand and bow. He had it positioned so that he could take both hands away and it still is balanced, then once he put the bow on the first string and tried it, it sounded awful but he is a Holmes and so doesn't give up that easily, he knew dad tuned this violin earlier so it wasn't due to that and then he spotted the dots on the neck and realised he could hold them down and it might change the outcome, so he spent some time trying each variation, he then used all the ones he liked in a slow tune at first which soon turned into a flurry of movement. John heard this down in the kitchen and also knew Sherlock would be giving Everett his first lesson today and so thought that Sherlock needed winding in and not bombarding Everett with a skill he was sure not to be able to do straight away. He stormed upstairs intent on giving him a piece of his mind but also took his video recorder and camera that he'd been constantly carrying around with him for sneaky snaps of the new dad and son. To say he came upstairs to one of the biggest shock yet would be an exaggeration it was definitely in his top 5 that has happened to him. There was Everett dancing around playing the violin at an insane speed and such skill he could be a professional. John hot the camcorder out and began recording while sending Sherlock a text

Come back now, but be very quiet and make sure you aren't heard your son is doing something amazing!!-JW
Said man came back not 5 minutes later and crept up the stairs towards the beautiful music. He got to the doorway and saw John was recording Everett who was now playing a song varying from slow to insane speeds to the like Sherlock felt he could never manage. The song spoke of finding true joy and happiness and grasping it with both hands. At the end both Sherlock and John applauded him.
