Chapter 31: The Old Friend

Octavia's POV

Aio and I were walking with Kage and Sue, I wasn't sure how I felt about Sue because well the first time she saw me she tried to kill me but only thanks to Aio had she not, I made sure to keep Aio in between me and her.

"So how are we gonna retaliate against them?" Kage asked it took me a second to realize that them meant the enemy alliance we were fighting

"well Frozo's planning on making our own warmachines and I've learned that when Frozo plans something especially something this big he goes through with it and goes above and beyond" Aio replied

"ok...but that's only against the great octoweapons what about the rest of their army?" Sue asked him

"I don't know but we'll think of something" Aio said

"we're here" Kage told us we weren't that far from inkopolis square but it still looked really different from the bustling city of inkopolis. Kage opened the door and we went inside, there were a lot of boxes "um...I haven't unpacked yet" Kage told us "you don't say" Aio said sarcastically I giggled how does he get the timing just right?

"Want us to help you unpack?" I asked Kage nodded and we went to work.

After we were halfway done I realized something

"hey what were you two like back then?" I asked Aio he blushed which alarmed me. Why was he blushing from that?

"Well...we were pretty good friends and she knocked me out of my dark and edgy phase" he told me but there was more to it than that which also alarmed me

"anything else?" I asked

"well we played turf war together and hung out a lot," he told me

"hung out...a lot?" I asked this was worrying me what if they used to date?

"We weren't dating or anything plus she introduced me to Shade and Vivi" he told me I let go a pent up breath I'm glad they didn't used to date because with her back he might go after her again or the other way around

"so how well do you think Kage and Sue will get along?" I asked him he seemed to debate something in his head for a bit then spoke

"well Sue is strong, laid back and upbeat while Kage might not be strong but he is wicked fast, he is a bit more serious than me which isn't saying much and he sees everything through a more neutral perspective so as long as they don't fight about something they're good" he told me

I looked at Sue she was really the heavy lifter she had upacked and put down the heaviest of things making it seem easy that I was surprised by such a thin frame could handle it.

"Yeah I see what you mean," I told him and we went back to work.

"That took a while" I said as we finally finished it looked a lot more homey than before

"yeah but hey at least I'm completely unpacked" Kage said

"at least we won't sleep on the hard ground" Sue said we said our goodbyes and left.

Aio's POV

We were back at the apartment when I realized that Vivi and Shade didn't know that Sue was still alive. I shrugged mentally I'll tell them tomorrow.

I was in my room looking at the page in my scrapbook that I reserved as sort of a memorial to Sue because she did change my life it was more to just remember her by than anything else I looked at the description I wrote for that page

"my hearts have been broken again and again oh why does this one hurt more?" I whispered aloud I took my pen out and scribbled that out than I wrote

"she's been found again my hearts have mostly healed though my love for her is gone she still is my best friend" I nodded at the words I wrote then I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in" I said as I put my scrapbook away the door opened and I saw Octavia

"hey do you need anything" I ask her she seemed nervous I wondered why

"can I...sleep...with you tonight?" she asked timidly I tried my best to keep my eyes from widening

"uh...sure" I told her I got into bed she did too we were in each other's embrace

"hey Aio?" Octavia asked

"what is it?" I replied

"how do you feel...you know with your old best friend suddenly appearing after you thought she was dead for the past two years?" she asked

"well that's a bit hard to explain I mean I'm glad that she's alive but I'm worried about what happened to her." I told her

"well we'll figure things out," she told me then not too long after that she was asleep and soon I followed suit.
