hey guys: this update is specifically to act as a conversation with all of us about dumb shit that lies within this great app.

you'll see the topics and me breifly giving my opinion on them; then you'll see an underlined text for us to discuss in the comments. Here, I will get into specifics that maybe would get me into some hot water with some other people on wattpad lol

1. Rude Authors.

Dawg...?? I will never be able to understand people being mean or rude to the people supporting you and what you write.

Even when some comments are a little iffy I try and be nice, and NEVER argue with my readers.

Or authors who act stuck up, or like celebrities? This is wattpad. We allll the same.

let's talk about them 👀👀

2. The ads bruh...............lmao I swear there wasn't this many a couple years ago

3. The normalization of homophobia/transphobia in comment sections. Bro..not okay. People say that shit so casually lmfao

Ive seen authors do this as well. let's chat in the comments

4. How you can't say "fuck" "shit" or "bitch" in the comments without that this comment has been reported blah blah blah message. That feature is pointless as hell in my opinion

5. Colorism. The "light skinned female lead with dark skinned male lead" combo is fine, but we need more variety than that. Dark skinned women are so underutilized in a lot of these books. I don't always give my characters face claims, but if I do..they're not gonna all be light skinned/biracial

discussion in the comments

7. Kids. I don't know what my target demographic is but the thought of people under 13 reading me write about my characters doing coke and sucking d*ck is off putting to me. What ever happened to Junie B Jones?

8. Me: Favourite
Comments: I'm sorry what?? What's going on? Is this British or sum? Oh nah. What? I'm confused. *favorite I think you mean favorite. What is this?

lol if you're guilty of this it's alright, I get it,

9. People who promote their books in your comment section. Rubs me the wrong way.

10. Unnecessary drama.
This is an app where we read and write. I can't wrap my head around why people have beef ? Like if someone's ever said something that made me feel some type of way, I just unfollow them. No reason to go on their page and start stuff. No reason to announce that I unfollowed them either ? (I've seen that too)

I have some stuff to say about this as well lmao

11. Using the message board as twitter. I'll admit that I post a lotta unnecesary stuff to my message board, but if it's dumb or unimportant I don't press the "notify my followers" button. I see a whole lotta "omg I'm horny lol!" In my notifications lol. You don't gotta notify us with that I promise

12. Wattpad literally only pushing white stories to the forefront of the app until respecting black people became a tREnD within these companies and now its "here are some good black writers ❤️you're welcome"

I hate being so negative, so here's some things I like about wattpad

1. Messages. Messages make my day, I love talking to people on here about literally anything. Even if the message isn't nice lol, let's talk

2. Funny comments. I'll laugh literally all day at "omg somebody push this bitch down the stairs 🙄"

3. There's a lot of horny ass people on here and it makes for good content. I fw it

4. Writing is hard work, and it's always nice to see people really dedicated to doing it, and getting better at it.
