I saw the man step out of the doorway with a puzzled expression on his face. I cant believe it! That's the Happy they were talking about?! There life long friend, the one who basically became my uncle at an early age.
"J-J is that you? Oh my god I haven't seen you in... well forever!" He rushed forward while I was still lost in my head and squeezed me into a bone crushing hug. That finally broke me out of my stupor.
"Of course it's me! I cant believe it's you. You are the one they wanted me to find?" I questioned with a slight sad tone to my quavering voice. He picked up on that just as instantly as my soulmates did...
"Yes nugget... I'm sorry about your parents." He looked down and I could hear the pain in his voice. He was super close to them. "Although, it seems I no longer need to tell you what I had for you..." With that he smiled softly and gestured to the men around the room. "Jess, it seems you have already met your soulmates. Your mom and dad learned a long time ago that it was them. They got in touch with me so that i could help you if something were to happen to them. They were always looking out for you. Even in adult hood... " His somber demeanor had me throwing my arms back around him in another tight hug. That is, until someone coughed and cleared their throat behind us.
We both turned to see my mates will confused expressions written all over their faces. That and a slight twinge of anger at me hugging another man. Knowing what needed to be done, I walked up to the men until I stood directly in front of them. Then I spoke aloud with all the courage I could muster...
"I accept you, ALL of you as my mates. There may be times where this seems hard, like we will shatter in the wind, but I will always be there for you. All of you." With that said, I spread my arms open in invitation for hugs. All of the men ran forward and into my embrace. Happy took his leave to give us some privacy while some tears were shed. This is my home now. Here. With my beautiful mates, both inside and out. I was finally happy again after my parents' death. If only such moments could last forever...
A/N:
Hey guys! So, I know this update is super short but I promise there is a reason for that. This chapter leads into some heavy and emotional stuff. Those of you who suffer from some of the same stuff Jess does are not alone. I put up with it too. So, I'll stop yapping and get going on the next chapter where we really dive deeper into Jess and her emotions. Love y'all!
~Sam :)
