Part Twenty: Downfall of a Droid

3 months later..

Rex fell to the ground with a loud grunt before he was met with a fist, mere inches from his face. He chuckled softly before he shook his head. "You've gotten better, General."

Athena smirked down at him before she unclenched her fist and held out her hand, pulling Rex to his feet when he grabbed it. "Hey, I've learned from the best. But still, thank you, Rex. I think without this, I'd be tossed around like a rag doll."

Rex laughed softly before he patted his General's shoulder. "Even if you weren't be tossed around, sir, you'd still make a great sparring partner."

Athena smiled at him before her commlink went off. "Athena."

: Athena, I need you to meet me on the bridge. It's urgent. : She heard Anakin say as she looked to Rex and then back at her commlink. "Alright, we're on our way."

The link ended and Athena looked to Rex. "I'll wait for you outside and you can just come on out when you're ready."

"But, don't you have to change, too?"

"Oh, I can just do this.." Athena began and with a wave of her hand, her training outift, which was just a simple tank top and leggings, changed into a midnight blue crop jacket, a blue jumpsuit, almost the same color as the 501st armor, and black combat boots, with her scarf and her two lightsabers clipped to it.

"You...changed your uniform, s-sir?" Rex asked, trying his best not to blush, but it was impossible not to. "Um..yeah. I felt the corset wasn't allowing me to breathe. Besides, I can go into space and not worry about a space suit."

Rex chuckled nervously before Athena looked to the door. "Okay, um, I'll wait outside."

"R-Right. I'll be only a moment."

"Seems like that coward always knows where and when to attack us." Anakin stated, taking the words right out of Athena's mouth.
