Lily's POV
—————

The next day, which was Thursday, surprisingly flew by. I expected him to follow me everywhere again, and attempt to talk to me at every given moment.

Instead he was actually nice.

He opened classroom doors for me, offered to buy my lunch, and didn't try to start conversation when I was in the middle of something.

He was actually helpful.

It almost hurts to say that sentence with the word helpful instead of 'annoying' or 'an idiot'.

However, him being so kind and caring only made me more annoyed.

What was he trying?

As I walked through the halls, out of the corner of my eyes I see Xavier talking to a group of boys. Once he spots me he makes his way over, leaving the other guys behind.

That only makes me roll my eyes and scowl.

"Hey! So, how'd I do today? Can we hang out again tonight?" He glances down at me with a big smile.

"No." Is all I say.

His smile decreased, but he still doesn't let what I said effect him, "Why not?"

"Not today. Maybe tomorrow."

I had dinner with my parents tonight, and I couldn't miss it. They're constantly busy, and any time I got with them I treasured. Although I have no problem being alone, there were times where I just wanted to see them. And after not hearing from them for 3 weeks straight, (besides them leaving notes saying that they miss me and leaving me money for food) they're finally coming home for dinner tonight.

"Alright, my place again, tomorrow after school?" He offers.

"I'll think about it." I say, quickening my pace, leaving him behind so I can have some peace and quiet.

"Okay, just let me know tomorrow!" He shouts behind me.

I continue walking, wanting to be in the comfort of my home already.

* THE NEXT DAY *

"Class, make sure to work on pages 140-155 tonight! Have a good weekend!" The english teacher spoke to the class, even though students had already began packing up and rushing out the door.

I would not have a good weekend.

Xavier has continued being nothing more than a perfect gentleman.

It makes me want to throw him off a cliff, him being so nice is just..bleh.

I have no excuse to say no to him later.

I let out a sigh of annoyance as I walked to my normal table at lunch.

As I sat down and dropped my bag, a familiar face quickly sat next to me.

"Hey Lily, so you got an answer for me yet?" Xavier asked, with a big grin of his face.

How does he smile all the time? How do his cheeks not hurt? What keeps making him so happy every time I see him?

I just let out a huff and grabbed my food out of my bag. I quickly began munching on chips.

"Um, Lily?" He asked, wondering if I was ignoring him.

"Just let me eat in peace, then I'll answer." I tell him between grabbing more chips.

He just nods, with a stupid grin stuck on his face.

And he just sits there. Watching me eat in silence.

After I eat a few more chips, I'm almost annoyed at how patient he's being.

"Okay fine, I'll watch another movie with you. But, you have to drive me there right after school. And we do our homework together first." I offer.

"Deal." He immediately answers.

"Good, now, can you please leave me alone? Do you not have any other friends?" I ask. It was a serious question. It felt like all day at school all he did was follow me around.

"Sorry, I'll leave you alone for now. See you soon!" He says, slightly playfully.

"Finally, he's gone. So, how've you been?" A familiar voice asks, as they sit down opposite of me.

"I'm fine, Andrea. But why do you keep running away when he gets near me? I'm starting to miss my only friend." I answer playfully, munching on more chips.

Andrea is my one and only friend, because she's just like me. She is insanely beautiful, and she also gets a lot of attention from guys. I usually turn down guys because they all only want to prove a point and brag to their guy friends, but Andrea turns guys down because although she holds her own very well, she is incredibly shy when it comes to any and all romantic things.

We've been best friends for over 8 years now, having met each other when we were both 10.

"I can't help it, I can tell from a mile away what his intentions are and I'm not getting anywhere near that." She claims.

I raise my eyebrows at her, "Me too, but he's a bug I just can't seem to squash."

Andrea lets out a small chuckle, which makes me laugh a little too.

"I know, I'm being a bit of a bitch, but I can already tell he's a flirt, but he's trying to be nice to get me to trust him. And even worse, I'm starting too." I exclaim.

This is the first guy who's tried to chase after me, who's actually gotten me to feel something other than annoyed when I'm in their presence. Even though at times he's a pain in my ass, I actually had fun with him at his house.

Andrea's eyes widen at that, "Well, that's a first."

"I know, he's actually nice company and when he shuts up he's not completely annoying." I complain.

Any sane person would be over the moon when a nice guy (or in another situation, girl) was pursuing them, but not me. I just wanted the male population to leave me alone.

But, the worst part is, I am beginning to enjoy his company. However, I can't let him know that. His ego would only grow more, if that was somehow possible.

"Really? Wow, you actually finding a guy decent, never thought that would happen." She joked, her smile not quite meeting her eyes.

I glare at her, before giving up my fake expression of anger and replacing it with a small smile.

"I guess he is decent. But, we're hanging out tonight. Maybe he'll reveal his true colors." I declare, with finality in my tone.
