Jessica's POV

my eyes widened and Zach slowly turned around. he sighed in relief
"dammit Corbyn!" he said and ruffled his hair
"your with Jess... you were about to kiss her..." corbyn said but he looked over at Annie "wow, hey" he said, she shot him a confused look
"you are fucking beautiful, why havent we met before?" he said
annie giggled "we have - Hes cute, where did you find him" she asked me
"hes Zach's friend" I said and crossed my arms
"oh are you like Zach? because if you are then this wont work"
"hey, that's rude" Zach said
"deal with it, your an ass" she said, Zach rolled his eyes and looked at me
"what were you going to say?" he said and tried to grab my hand again
"n-nothing. it doesn't matter. I need to go get some lunch" I said "annie" I said, she looked at me and smiled at Corbyn
"Annie Parker!" I said. she waved goodbye to Corbyn and came over to me
"its ne so cute!?" she gushed as we walked into the cafeteria
"I almost told Zach I fucking like him and your gushing about Corbyn besson?" I said
she smiled and shrugged "I think hes adorable " she kept on talking to me about him. I ran my hand through my hair and let out a huge sigh
"you are getting on my nerves" I rolled my eyes
"shut up, you love me" she said as we sad down at our table.

as I walked into my house my phone began to ring. I sighed as I put my bag down then pulled my phone out of my pocket. it was Cooper. I answered

"hey, are you okay?" I asked, he never calls me
"hi Jess, are you home?" he asked
"yeah.. yeah why?"
"Nana and Grandad aren't answering their phones, are they home?" I looked around and there was no sign of them. I walked to my grandads office and checked if he was there, but he wasn't
"nana!? grandad!" I shouted, they didn't answer.. which was weird - they are normally always here/
"I dont think they are here. Can I help?"
"well nana was supposed to pick me up from Soccer practice, I just wanted to remind her. since she forgets"
I chuckled a little "I can come get you if you want? what time does it normally end?"
"3.15" he said
"okay, well ill be there at like 3.30 okay?"
"yeah thanks. see you later" he said and hung up. I had 20 minutes until 3.30 so i checked the fridge for his 'soccer snack' my nana always makes him a sandwich for after his practice. i found it and put it in a baggie. then i thought i should call nana just to check

"hey nana" i said as i threw things into my car
"hi jess. are you okay?" she asked
"cooper has tried to call you, but you didn't answer. he tried grandad too.
"oh right i needed to tell you about this. this morning your grandad needed to go for his monthly check up" she started - i mean this can only end bad... right?
"...yeah?"
"they wont tell me but they need to keep him here, like over night. and maybe longer" she sighed, my nana and grandad basically rely on eachother - even if it doesn't seem it
"right. okay. well ill go get coop from soccer, where's El?"
"hes here with us. i think hes the reason the doctor wont tell me whats wrong with your grandad"
"okay. okay. when i get coop ill come straight to the hospital alright? then ill look after the boys so the doctors can tell you" i lightly smiled, though she couldn't see me
"alright sweetie. ill see you soon"
"yeah" i hung up

i took a deep breath and started my car. coopers school is like 10 - 15 minutes away from our house, depending on traffic, so if i left now id just about make it at the right time. about my grandad he has a few conditions. he has Hemophilia A - its a condition where your blood clots and creates bruises. he has Alzheimer's disease and he has COPD - a condition where it makes breathing increasingly harder as time goes on. these constantly upset my nana and she sometimes cant face him. everytime he goes for his check ups we panic, anything could happen.

as i got to the school i saw cooper walking out with his friends, i honked my horn making him jump slightly. he said bye to his friends and got into my car.
"hey" i said and began to drive off
"hi... why are you in a rush?" he asked buckling up
"grandad is at his check up and the doctors wont tell nana something because El is there so i need to be there to watch after him. he nodded and put his headphones in as i turned for the hospital.....
