I try opening amir's car but it was closed.so I walked to mama's parlour to take the key from him but what I heard stopped me from knocking the door.
"It haram to eavesdrop,I tell my self.
"Haba yaya, how can you let Amir marry such girl for god sake, she doesn't even have a real family, and how can you agree on a simple lie she just made. Aunty was the one talking
"Zainab stop saying such thing,what is wrong with you ne?? Mama asked.
"Nothing is wrong with me, but something is wrong with Amir, can't you see that ne wai??she is not even his class fah,shi ya ha kyau ya rude'a (he is just insane because of her beauty),What if she kills him and runs away with his money, ba a yardah da yaran talakawan nan yanzu fah( they don't trust poor people nowadays)they all golddiggers,they will only marry you because of your money, maybe mah she and her kaka are all lying so that they can trick amir.....aunty said.
I bit my lip and kept blinking my eyes continuously trying to stop the tear am holding from falling... right now I was scared...or should I say terrified, am scared to lose Amir, he is the only one left for me. What if aunty separates us...please help me ya Allah.
"Please aunty can we stop talking about this Dan Allah?? I love and trust my wife that doesn't matter. Amir said angrily.
"Shikenan!!!(that's it)She have bewitched him, look at what Amir is saying to me yaya, ..ask him to leave this girl since before its too late.
Amir dan na(my son)there are many suitable girls for you I can choose one for you, A'a ma(no.. no.) no need to look for one why don't you marry my Rahinah, just leave that fulani girl. Aunty said making the tear am holding fall.
Ya Allah please help me please don't make my biggest nightmare come true.
"No aunty zainab but no need, and I thought we are over with me marrying Rahinah I love my wife; he stated Mama sai anjuma(goodbye) I hear Amir say and I know he was coming out.
I quickly clean my tears and smile, I don't want Amir to know I have heard their conversation.
Amir open the door and just stared at me.
"Hey...I ...was wai...ting for you to come out...daman.I was saying but Amir took
hold of my wrist and starts walking.
"Amir what are you doing??
"Amir where are you taking me??
"Amirr...
"Get in we are going home, he said without looking at me.
"But we just got here, what's wrong??
"Sabreen just get in, He said and I looked at him shocked, I can't remember the last time he called me by my name.
"Amir please relax dan Allah I said looking at him ".
"You are telling me to relax sabreen, don't act like you didn't hear what aunty was saying in there; he said angrily almost raising his voice at me.
"Yes I heard but you know what? I don't care, because I also heard what you said so it's okay... just knowing you love and trust me is okay, so please relax amir; I lied even though I was scared deep down.
"Sabreen but...
"Amir am telling you it's okay you said you trust me so please,I said smiling.
"Okay then, I promise I will never everything is gonna be okay?he said kissing my forehead and I nodded.
I collected my phone, bid him goodbye and head inside hoping not to meet aunty.

"What took you so long?? Haifa asked collecting my phone.
"Ummmm...I was...
"Don't lie, just say you were with your husband I wouldn't scold you...she said rolling her eyes.
"Nooo... I wasn't!!!! I reply
"Like I didn't see you, she said again.
"Like what in the world is wrong with you guys?? Rahinah asked looking away from her laptop.
"Nothing!!! We both said simultaneously.
"So how is the preparations going?? I asked Haifa.
"Alhamdullilah, all is going well she replied and I nodded smiling.
Rahinah was a very sweet girl, maybe she deserve Amir I kept on thinking before finally shaking the thought off my head.
Me,Rahinah and Haifa spent the rest of the day chatting and planning Haifa's wedding, I was thankful I didn't bump into aunty or else I didn't know what would have happened.

"So,how was your day?? I asked Amir who was driving us home.
"Good... he said coldly not even sparing me a glance. I know he is like this because of what happened earlier.
"Good...just good??I asked hoping to cheer his mood.
"Ok it's was great... he replied.
The car was silent again so I started playing a game on my phone but I hate it when amir is quite, normally when he's driving us,he asks me about my day or he will tell me about his.
"It's not helping at all... I whisper to myself.
"Amir can't you do something??? I asked.
"What do you want me to do?? Can't you see am driving or do you want me to cause an accident?? He asked calmly raising
one eyebrow finally looking at me.
"Anything!!! Just not this silent treatment of yours, I hate it; I reply pouting.
But he just sighed shaking his head.
"You're something else, he murmurs.
"I heard that!!! I said rolling my eyes.
" we...umm... chatted and watched football with some of my friends,how about you??. He asked looking at me smiling.
"I am still young incase you don't know it,its better if you don't cause an accident cus I don't wanna die now... I said sarcastically rolling my eyes.
Amir started laughing and I gave him the what's funny look.
"Don't worry, you don't have to tell me you're still young I love you so I won't cause any accident babe. He said pecking my cheeks and chuckled.
"Finally you're back!!! I said smiling.
"Where did I go before?? He asked glancing at me before looking at the road.
"I don't know!! Maybe you should try asking the silent Amir who left a minute ago..I said rolling my eyes.
"Okay I get it, you can roll your eyes while I can't but can you stop it already it's making me sick".
"Yeah you probably sick,and you need a doctor because you're jealous you can't roll your eyes better than me. I said annoyed.
"Damn!! That's why I love you, he said smiling.
"And I hate you I replied looking at the road.
"No you don't ".
"Yes I do I said looking at him.
"No you don't he said trying not to laugh.
"Yeah....yeah whatever, you're so annoying. I said shaking my head.
"Thank you hayatee,I will take that as a compliment he smiling.
"Arrrrgggg can you just return to your silent mood?? I asked rolling my eyes.
"Nah, I'm me again,he said smirking and I just put my head back on the seat and close my eyes before we reach home.
